From what I heard, he's a straight edge. So he doesn't drink, doesn't smoke and never took drugs. I think that's a big factor why he always stayed so sharp.

I agree. I think the reason he wasnt in it, is bc he wanted to be a Starfleet Crew Member (fair enough) but the Studio wanted him to play a Street guy in 1980's Earth. Him in the old school Star Fleet Uniforms, back then when he was Red Hot, I think he couldve pulled off a brief serious role but still manage to have 1 or 2 very funny jokes. Im old enough to remember that back then, anything Eddie did was hilarious. Even interviews

i grew up on those films as i love the first 2 films. i saw the third one in the theaters when i was 13 and it was a massive disappointment at that age. it felt off and years later, it hasn't aged well. i hope this film makes up for it.

There was way too much of the daughter and JGL in this movie. Everybody wanted a case solved by the OG's...Taggart, Rosewood, and Foley. They were barely in the movie early on and were just thrown in at the end for nostalgia purposes. The film was more of a dad/daughter duo film with Foley and his daughter than a buddy cop movie. The film was poorly directed with too much fake looking CGI and too many unneccessary characters. Not to mention a nonsensical plot with an obvious villian. Eddie Murphy hasn't really been funny since his 1980's prime run. After that he got a huge ego and wanted to be a family entertainer or something. Taking himself way too seriously. I mean, he didn't even do his trademark laugh in this movie. That said BH Cop 4 was certainly better than BH Cop 3 but not by that much. It basically just made me want to go back and watch the glory days of the first 2 movies.
