Eddie Redmayne is such a gift for the whole Harry Potter fandom. So grateful he got to be Newt Scamander. Also, he's living every potterhead's dream! Safiyyah Yahya I really don’t understand the hate. Eddie plays him beautifully. Newt’s a guy who’s clearly an introvert. He’s not “girly”. And he only comes off as timid around most people. When he’s with his animals or a very select group of people, he is much more confident and relaxed. That’s why Tina Goldstein likes him so much. He’s sensitive and understanding, and brings out a very nervous, almost shy side of her that is so endearing to watch.

Made me smile to see this, I've had the same magic book from childhood! For everyone wondering how Eddie Potter did it was with his thumb placement along the pages. What's interesting is that these kind of books have pages cut out differently that we can't see from the video but only in person up close. So placing his fingers on the bottom right corner to flip the book flipped only the blank pages. Then he moved his fingers higher to show the black and white drawings. Moved them up to the top corner, and you get the colored ones. He was smart to use the blowing distraction, and he moved his body towards his right so we couldn't see his right hand flip the pages at different points! And that's all it is, great book to have and show your friends.

When Bryan blew on it Eddie took advantage of the distraction and very quickly drew the pictures on every page, then when he pulled out the wand in one hand he colored them with his other hand. The trick is he's just so fast we can't tell unless we use youtube's new frame by frame function.

Well when he first displays the blank pages his hand is on the center of the books side after that both times he shows the black and white pages it's on the top and when the coloured ones appear it's on the bottom. So it's just a simple gimmik where it only depends on where you rafle through it that's why he would never page slowly because then we could see the gimmiks inside if you watch the first time he accidently briefly flashes one of the pageholders used. The blowing part is just comedic misconception. The only part that actually requires skill is the distracion a slight of hand when get's the wand.
