Just watched the film....had tears in my eyes the whole time. The film was not cheesy. It didn't try too hard to inspire. What Eddie Edwards had was a true love of a sport. He absolutely ignored anyone who would try to deter him, because he had a dream since childhood of being an olympian. The movie didn't spoon-feed us the "Try and try again until you succeed" cliche. Instead, it told us that pure love and passion of something, the perseverance through obstacles, can inspire. Eddie not only wanted to be the first British ski jumper in 60 years...but he also pushed himself to do the 90 meter jump, having never done it, because he wanted to push himself. His goal was not to win a medal. His goal was to finish well. Now THAT is inspiring. I don't always care for sport movies, but this one I would buy and watch again, for sure!

"Where do you think you're going?" "The Olympics." I can't explain how beautiful this movie was because it was like nothing else I've seen. While it did inspire me to achieve my goals, I would say that it made me want to change my attitude and outlook on life. It was really lovely seeing someone who was just high on life and excited just to be there and be present. Such a well done film!

This movie shows a life story of Eddie Edwards, but in truth he didn't have a coach as Hugh Jackman. In reality it was only advice from people around but no one guided him. And to achieve what he achieved its really hats off to him. His aim was never to win medals but always to be an Olympian, and that he did. This movie inspires that if you have clear aim even if you are a born looser you will achieve that aim eventually. And Eddie did that!
@storminboy4 жыл бұрын
Yeah that's true. Eddie himself said when he was at the premier that only a 3rd of the film was accurate. Who cares. The film captures a great underdog story and I loved it.

I am the 'Eddie the Eagle' of endurance running! In an elite field of runners I would probably finish last (not to say that I'm a bad runner), but I would be so happy just to be there competing with the best in the same race. This song and the film has inspired me very much in my own running journey. God bless! 🙏

''Where have you been?'' ''At the Olympics.'' This movie is one of my favourite movies, to be honest. I remember watching it when it got released because my dad loves ski jumping, us coming from Austria, where ski jumping is popular. Back then I didn't care too much about the movie but I did find it beautiful and I have the feeling some of the motivation and ambition shown stuck with me. When I rewatched it years later I totally understood it and now I just adore it. This movie and the soundtrack motivate me to keep going, and so does Michael Edwards. Fly!

Just watched the film, not sure how I ever missed it in 2017, it’s brilliant and inspiring. The 80s style score with contemporary synth sounds in homely C major key is entirely appropriate, it takes the listener right back to the era. Love the way you’ve titled the video “composted” by Matthew Margeson 😂
