i agree with #3 and 5 the most. 'bricks' is completely a reseller term, and no real fan of sneakers (not "sneakerheads" lol) would ever use that term to describe a sneaker. #5 is on point too, because even though I'm somewhat a fan of hyped Nike stuff, there are a lot of better quality and more affordable sneakers that are not Nike/Jordan brand. i do hope it stays that way though, it keeps the lower key brands more accessible and enjoyable for true fans of them as well

This is one the best sneaker video if not the best I have stumbled on. I couldn't agree more on the pet peeves that are related to me. Being called a sneakerhead, resellers, bricks, other brands. Honestly, resellers fucked the term sneakerheads up for OG/true sneaker lover, collector, historians, etc. That's all regular folks think sneakerheads are now. People who resell sneakers. As for resellers, no resellers will get a penny more off retail from me no matter how much I want a shoe. I rather take L's and stick with collecting and wearing more retro Nikes that are considered bricks (Thanks resellers for not buying AM90 Infared, bought 3 pairs for 149.99CAD on sale) and finally starting to wear classics from other brands like New Balance 992, Asics Gel-Lyte III, Reebook classics, etc after wearing strictly Nikes (not even Jordans) for the past decade.

1. Sneakerhead - This never bothered me however I would never use that word to describe myself, I'm more of a sneaker enthusiast 2. Resellers - A huge percentage of the current "sneakerheads" are in this category 3. Bricks - All I can say is it ain't bricks if it's on my feet, I never let other people's opinion on what's good or not to influence what I put on my feet 4. Weird thumbnail in sneaker YT vids - Pathetic IMO 5. People who won't wear other brands - I agree with your opinion and to add I only care what's on my feet, if people choose to limit themselves to seemingly "cool" brands then they are missing out on a lot of awesome sneakers out there. Aside from JB , Nike and Adidas, I have NB, Puma and Asics kicks that I really like.

Agreed with most...I'm way more than a.sneakerhead, and I don't like the term. Collecting sneakers is something I choose to do as a result of making decent decisions in my past with college, job, family and opportunities. Putting these things first will eventually afford you a few things. I have resold sneakers before only because I hit on the wrong size a few times. If Nike does nothing about bots, I feel it will continue to hurt the hobby (if we can still call it that) and will be bad for most. Believe me, I'm not most...I'm 50 and wear all my sneakers; Jordan, Airmax and New Balance. In fact, the first time I viewed your video, it was a New Balance that got me there....God Bless!

As a non sneaker enthusiast( started watching your channel because I have been wanting a pair from the New Balance 990 series) when I see someone licking the soles of some Jordan's, I think what is wrong with these people. As far as, why some people only wear Jordans or AF1s, I do consider it weird when self proclaimed sneakerheads only have Jordans. However, I do understand it, when non sneakerheads do it. They are the defacto go to shoe. You won't stand out and they are pretty much universally accepted by everyone. Some people just want to blend in or not stick out and worry about other things. Years ago when I saw someone wearing Jordans, I thought that person is a into basketball, Michael Jordan or was really into sneakers. Now it is often the shoe people just get by default. Same applies to shoes like Vans, Converse or AF1s. Jordans and AF1s are basically the Honda Civic/ Accord or Toyota Camry/ Corolla of the sneaker world. If you don't know what to get, just get those.

I enjoyed this little conversation piece, so much, I'm Italian but I've lived in America for a few periods of my childhood therefore is like I don't fully belong to Italy or to America, I formed my own personality,my own opinion, I'm comfortable with being myself and by myself, what I see a lot is people always trying to look like other people is like they try to be special by looking like everyone else. I love basketball, I love shoes but I love to look great overall.. nowadays is almost impossible to look at shoes without thinking about the"market value" but to me overall the important thing is the aesthetic, and of course the comfort if I'm actually playing, training or just walking...i try not to care about the hype, example i never liked the Travis1 ...to me is an ugly shoe, Yeezy foam runners.. not for me. Even off-white shoes..i don't like them. And when your whole style is your shoes you don't have a style. Imo

I feel almost the same bro, 1)i agree with you about the word “sneakerhead”, i think that the word is too extreme (?) the word kind of describe a person who thinks almost 99% of his time about sneakers. And definitively you can NOT define a person as a sneakerhead or either introduce someone as a “sneakerhead” to a group of people he doesn’t know. Im into sneakers but its just one of my hobbies, its not what I am. 2)i Feel the same about the reseller price of the sneakers.... its ridiculous ! i like what I like and i’ll wear the sneakers I like and i dont care if the reseller price is high or low, thats bullshit 3)About the thumbnails, i feel the same, i find it ridiculous, but in general i dont pay too much att

attention to it because i understand its a marketing thing, it's about the number of likes, the interactions on youtube, etc... its not a big deal. 3)About the term Brick ('?) You said in the video its a reseller term, and Im into sneakers, not in to reselling sneakers, so I wont use that term ever. 4) And honestly I think people who only like and buy Nikes and Jordans are lame. In my collection I have at least 4 sneakers brands: Adidas, nike, puma and reebok. I think that You have to be open and try new things from time to time, its a part of life to try new things, new experiences, etc.... In spanish we have a saying that says "En la variedad esta el gusto"....the translation would be something like "In the variety you find your taste" PD:Im Sorry if my english is not that good, but i did my best. Eddie, Address the elephant in the room: hype isa convenient and a sure fire confidence booster. A lot of the confidence lies right there in the shoe alone. Or in the “hype” clothes alone. A person doesn’t even need to have a sense of fashion, the brand does all the work for them. Where as, when u r honestly unapologetically confident, like urself & myself & others, we express it thru our shoes/fashion that we personally like. Not to say I don’t love throwing on a outfit, or a piece that’s already prescribed with it’s own confidence, but for the most part I like what I like at the end of the day and hype doesn’t do it for me like my own personal style does

I used to be proud of being labeled as a “sneakerhead” till I matured a bit and saw how the term has since become synonymous with snobby rich kids who buy the latest shoes just to flex. At least that’s what it’s become IMO. There is like a grey area between the term “Sneakerhead” and the term “hypebeast” now. In recent years the lines have been blurred. And something about this affiliation with hyperconsumerism rubs me the wrong way. Like it’s just a hobby and I appreciate certain sneakers. Nothing more and nothing less.

Completely agree on buying a shoe whether it’s a “brick” or not but unfortunately kids just wanna be seen as cool and only wanna buy hype stuff. They just wanna be like Jake Paul or other famous influencers who do it just to be “cool”

What's up Ed, I hate when resellers go to Ross or Burlington or Marshalls buy up all the heat that's affordable, and resell it double the price. Not fair to people who can't afford them. Your thoughts? ? Great topic

Spitting truth my man! "Bricks" gets me the most man. Can't stand it. You like what you like and don't talk to me like I'm a reseller.
