wouldn´t call it enduro if it hasn´t got at least 50% terrain like this. It´s my passion, I call it enduro-trial, cause you need to have both habilities. And u easlily see who´s got it, simply seee how easy some do the hasrdest parts while most can´t do it as smoothly. It is in fact as an art as a sport. beautifull!!!

Nice video by the way! You should check out the Ozark 100 Miler, pretty tough race here in the Midwest, 3 motos 2 day 1 night, 100 miles of racing in a day!

Lighter weight, the instant power hit when needed for lofting the front over stuff, ease of re-starting when you kill the motor, less chance of overheating (except for KTM 300s anyway). For the privateer racer, 2 stroke's cheap and easy maintenance is yet another plus.

Cheers for that. I see in your videos you do a bit of mountain biking, have you tried out the trails over at Parkwood?@Ray Ning

don't be mistaken these 250's are tractors, they have tons of torque, the only reason a rider would take a four stroke would be comfort, or their sponsor wont let them ride a 2 stroke

I think 2 strokes got a good bit of torque, but the powerband really does it for hill climbing.

Can you just turn up for the 27th event at Tong to spectate and how much is it?

In this case makes sense cause it´s not a long track/hours ride, but in a confined track. Both 2stroke and 4 s. run separetly categorys. But you can use a YZ 125 or 250 / 2stro for ex., without the engines rotor, for less consuption, the real enemy for 2 stroke enduros. Dus taking the excessive tork/rotation to have better traction (less sliding of back wheel) and dus more low rpm. World champs used a lot 250 -2 stoke like that years back, now the 4 s. 125´s or 250 are much better so...

a 2 two-stroke tuned for enduro actually makes more torque at low rpm then a 4-stroke... remember its firing twice as much as the 4-stroke at an equivalent rpm, but then in some conditions it becomes easier to understand rear tire grip with a 4-stroke because its firing less often!

Most of the big name enduro guys ride 300cc two strokes, they have a great power to weight ratio. Sometimes the big 4 strokes can seem heavy riding enduros and hare scrambles.

Why are 2 strokes used so much in enduro? It would seem to me that a 4 stroke with it's lower RPM power and torque would suit this type of riding more effectively.

in d 90 u only YZ´s yamaha´s or CR´s Honda´s 125cc-250cc-2strke in enduro, without the "rotor", a part in the engine that gives it much more RPM and more raw. Actualy the YZ engine was the same engine in enduro, cross and speed asfalt, along with the FZ above 450cc (500cc, 750cc). in d 90´s only above 250cc bike were 4 stroke, and the 500cc motocross or enduro were like giant horses that jumped 2 feet in neutral just on engine rotation. Old yamaha TT-R air cooled ruled the late 70 ´n 80´s.

2 strokes dont over heat nearly as quickly as a 4 stroke does, and since alot of enduro riding is slow paced because of how technical it is.

also, a few of the newer enduro geared 2 strokes put out mor torque. my ktm 200 puts out more torque (by factory specs) than a kxf250. not saying id beat one in the long run but with todays engineering, a lot of things can be achieved with 2 strokes.

Most 2 strokes are about 20 to 25 and hell maybe even 30 pounds lighter than a 4 stroke. Another people ride 2 strokes is because there easier to work on. Also the KTM XC-W's have a low powerband that acts just like a 4 stroke, but its a 2 stroke. I love my 2007 KTM 300 XC-W.
@Thetruthleaker11 жыл бұрын
yes. The only obstacle is comsumption, u need to have the gas to finish, u´r not in a race track near the gas tank. :) but then again, u won´t go far with a single tank in a 4 stroke KTM 625 either. Dammmm...
