You can watch the wobble example I featured in the video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/paTTl3-Kd7-ff6s

I have this exact setup, and while the wobble is very annoying, this is only the beginning. After a while, the rubber tires on the slider wheels crack and disintegrate. Edelkrone doesn't even sell spares! Eventually I found a type of vinyl tubing that has the same dimensions and works as a cheap replacement. The ecosystem modularity is a great selling point, but the binding app is not so great, placing some arbitrary limitations on usage. For instance when used alone, the headone only has three position presets. You have to pair more gear to get more presets. I often just leave my slider on in the vicinity of the headone to get the extra three presets! Thanks for this video, especially your demonstration of the vibration issues.

Did you purchase thread adapters separately? Do you need thread adapters to attach the Headone to the slider one? Thanks!
@rodrrico2 жыл бұрын
You don't need thread adapters to connect the HeadOne to the Slider or FlexTilt Head. That's a great question, and thank you for watching :)

Great review, thank you! My original V1.0 SliderONE with separate "motion module" has lasted for years, still works great. But now I am concerned. Have they let their quality slip? I am really shocked to hear about your customer service experience as others have had great experiences. Hmmmm.

From what I can tell, Edelkrone are very hit and miss. I'm really happy that you've had a good experience and that your products are still working and going strong. Hopefully my experience is not the norm.

Sadly I didn't see this video before I bought the same set-up. I used the slider/tilt head on it's own with a Canon 5Dmk3, it was fine 80% of the time, I had a couple of clips that weren't great but the weight of the rig was very low as I had just the camera and a 50mm lens. Recently I have been using a Blackmagic 6K Pro, I tried yesterday using it with the excellent Sigma 18-35 and it was not good and frankly dreadful with the HeadOne as well. Edelkrone say the weight it can take is 9kg, my total weight was 3.5kg. I am going to do more testing and see what can be done about the wobble. My feeling is that the combination of all three elements is not stable, getting the flex tilt in the optimum position will help reduce the flexing. The only positive that came out of this was that DaVinci Resolve sorted out the wobble/stutter and the resulting clip looks very good.
@rodrrico2 жыл бұрын
Your experience echoes that of mine. I should clarify that running various stabilizers in the edit do mitigate most of the wobbles, but I feel deceived by Edelkrone's marketing and big name youtubers who all don't mention this obviously prevalent issue. Thank you so much for watching and for your feedback!

Great honest review. I've got the same issue with a much cheaper Konova P1 S3 slider which has noticeable wobble even using wide lenses (Fuji X-T2 with 16mm) I was considering spending much more for this Edelkrone but glad I've seen this review.

If Edelkrone are more honest about the limitations of their products, they'd gain a lot more respect amongst professional film makers. No on/off switch is really poor design - tip of the iceberg ;) Thanks for watching and for your feedback!

great review man ! I made the same review but I went harder on them... and yeah it's a joke... they advertise tons of macro shots on their website. Glad that you are one of the few none sponsored reviews

Thanks for watching Duncan! I did have a whole section talking about how we can only ever see / find sponsored videos on youtube from Edelkrone, but it got too off track so I cut that out. Hopefully people see this video (and your video) before they buy so they know what to expect. Overall, I'm just disappointed that there's been some dishonesty from Edelkrone. Fun fact, if they were good with this products I was going to buy the JibONE which looks great, but now I don't trust that it will do what we see online. Really appreciate your feedback!

Just bought the ifootage shark slider nano in Sydney, it is also motorised, and also has this wobble, but much worse. Bought it two weeks ago. Will be sending it back too.

I haven't used the new ifootage shark slider nano. I only have the full sized S1 Shark Slider (full manual only). Good to hear your thoughts on it though. I'll try and review it later this year.

One thing that I would say is that the slider has less wobble issues than the headone. I have bought three headones and they all have the same problem. you should get the moza Slypod :)
@rodrrico4 жыл бұрын
I did look at the Slypod, the problem with that is the noise factor. I wanted a motorised slider for products (mostly) but also for a B-Camera for interviews. At least the Edelkrone SliderONE V2 isn't too loud for IVs. Thanks again for your feedback, and for your suggestion for a replacement. Most appreciated!

Really disappointing to say the least, especially at 85%...??? I i've had zero issues with my Rov Pro, but I was looking at this system before I was sold on that one however. Kind of glad I didn't go for it to be honest. Great review mate, hope you're doing well!
@rodrrico4 жыл бұрын
So I can use them and get smooth footage, but at drastically reduced speed and using Warp Stabilizer. Adding extra time to shoots and more time to post adds up on commercial projects, so that's why I ultimately concluded that Slider and Head are not up to to professional levels. Yeah my alternative was Rhino for sure as Syrp are too expensive and seem to focus solely on Timelapse photography motion systems. I've used some great Kessler Systems over the years too, but they are far to expensive for the applications of how I'd use them.
@dariorotafoto99184 жыл бұрын
Sad to hear that...I'm deciding to buy a motion system and edelkrone is at the top in my list. Listening to your comments makes me think. Thank you for this review. What other sliders are you using?
@rodrrico4 жыл бұрын
The Edelkrone works, just not remotely to the level of polish and proficiency they claim. Right now I'm using a Kessler second shooter motion system, a rigwheels passport cine system and on the shoot this week we've been using Tilta's latest massive slider system. Kessler wins the argument of the day 9/10 times though.

Hi! do you know if it's able to do triggering if you setup the camera for bracketing?
@rodrrico3 жыл бұрын
No, it can't be triggered other than by using the app for video. Though, for timelapse it will start or stop as desired. You'd simply treat the timelapse as stop motion. That will work. Good question and thank you for watching.

Hey rodrrico, thanks for sharing your experience. I believe the lens that edelkrone used for macro video shooting is a *Laowa 24mm probe lens* not a normal macro (or tele) lens. and it works pretty good with time-lapse (move shoot move) video even with a telephoto or macro lens.
@rodrrico4 жыл бұрын
Indeed they do use the Lowra Probe 24mm for some of their shots. Regardless this shouldn't be a factor for filming macro. I didn't even bother to test using my 100mm macro lens as the 35mm lens was already wobbling so bad. Overall the lens has little effect on the outcome. The Lowra doesn't even have any Lens Stabilisation, so why would the wobble be worse on a lens that has image stabilisation? That's a rhetorical question. The fact remains that they mislead customers. Thanks for watching and for your feedback though.
@mikebowdach17944 жыл бұрын
@@rodrrico I understand your frustration. I have no experience with SliderONE V2 I use the Pro version of it for macro level time-lapse and honestly I am happy with the results I get from it.

So bummed to come across your video, not because it's a bad video...on the contrary...you're a much better reviewer than me! I'm bummed that even a year later...they still haven't fixed these issues and it sounds like their customer service hasn't gotten any better. That's a shame! I didn't get their slider, but the 2 HeadOnes that I have, at times, seem to have epilepsy. And that Flex Tilt...OMG...so annoying. I'm more annoyed that it took them 9 months to send me replacements while they were sending product to KZbinr and paying for sponsored reviews, but that's their prerogative. I'm currently stuck with a very expensive paper weight. I have used the Rhino and love it and the Arc 2 is prob what I'll go with at some point. Again, great review! You got me as a subscriber! 😉

Oh man, I had a whole section in this video where I talked about the way Edelkrone focus on their sponsored youtubers and they deleted my honest reviews from their site, but those didn't exactly fit the review, so I dropped that section entirely. Edelkrone didn't even offer me a replacement, I had to force their hand to get a refund on the table. But as you know form this video, the value was 15% less than what I paid and only store credit so it wasn't worth the hassle and financial loss. Thank you so much for the subscribe and for your excellent feedback! I know there are many of us out there who have had problems with Edelkrone that get swept under the carpet, so I really appreciate you coming forward.
