This is awesome. I have a bad habbit of buying stuff then watching reviews but I was essentialy looking for a quick deployment tripod and they are a pretty penny. This popped up and knew it was the one. I do videos of cars I work on so I need to get quick B roll shots since I also dont want to sabotage deadlines. Usually I'll have my employee hold my gimbal but then I pull him from the job. Im just hoping it works well on my floor since i have that ribbed Racedeck flooring. If anything will hold it more in place.

I think my biggest problem with this stand is the whole tilt thing. So many of my clients want things shot vertically these days, I was really interested in this stand until I realised it wouldn't be possible :( Great video btw and thank you, going to subscribe and watch some of your other videos :)
@Robert.DeCorah
@Robert.DeCorah Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! You could always get a L bracket for your camera, that way you could mount it vertically. You could then screw a quick release plate into the standplus, and then quickly switch between both orientations.

Thanks for the review! I like the concept. It looks like a quick way to set up a locked-down second camera for an interview, then have it available for certain b-roll shots. But I already have 4 tripods as a solo shooter, so it's hard to justify right now...

Oh I get it. I have many as well. I feel like this is something I will use around the house to start creating more content for my personal brand. I did use it yesterday on a commercial shoot as a second angle and it was lightning fast to depot and get at the right level. Curious to how I continue to utilize it going forward. Thanks for the comment!

Oh man, that point you made about how regular tripods make it difficult to set up shots and as a results I've been lagging with my content really resonated to me and now I really need this tripod. I'm actually going to get it now. Thank you. I've been putting off content because I've always hated setting up the tripod so this thing really something that I needed.

Glad it helped! It’s definitely a game changer for content creation. It doesn’t replace a tripod for me on professional shoots, but it allows me to just make content. I have been using this for a few weeks or more now. I got mine from Edelkrone. The biggest plus I see is that it eliminates the setup pretty much . Thanks. I guess it is exclusively for indoor utilization due to the lack of any way to level the camera if the underlying surface is not flat. Correct? Thanks, Stefano
@Robert.DeCorah
@Robert.DeCorah Жыл бұрын
That is correct. The only way to circumvent this is to get a ball head that you can attach to the 1/4 20 screw so that it can level independently from the stand. Even then, you would want a flat surface for the stand itself to sit on. There is also no lock mechanism o prevent it from moving, so you would not want to use it on any sort of incline either.

Thank you for your extensive review! My frequent use case is to photograph hundreds of specimens in showcases in exhibitions and museums. Since the specimens are on shelves at different heights using a tripod is really tedious and so the StandPlus seems a good solution for this, right? Unfortunately these showcases have shelves from 0 to 70“ and the standplus max height is 60.2“ and the specimens should often be photographed from a higher position. How could the height of the StandPlus be increased? What would you recommend? Thank you for your time and expertise!
@Robert.DeCorah
@Robert.DeCorah 9 ай бұрын
Anything you do to increase the camera height for the taller specimens, will subtract that same amount from how low it can go. So if thet are 70", and you want to shoot them from slightly higher, than you would want to add 14-18" to the stands height. This means that if you put the standplus as it's lowest setting, add 14-18" to that number. Would it still work for what you do if that were to be the happen?

Hi :) I am wondering about the camera being way lower than the man's face in the picture starting your video. I rekcon that he will look down at the viewer with this angle? And I wonder if StandPLUS with it's 154 cm be high enough for tall people standing up while filming? What would you say?
@Robert.DeCorah
@Robert.DeCorah Жыл бұрын
That's a good question. It would definitely be below eyeline, but I think any talking would be done sitting down so that you are looking into the camera at eye-level. I guess if you have to stand to talk it is not ideal if you are tall, but I can look into it further.

Sorry for the late reply. Just now seeing this. There was a chinese manufacturer that made something similar, but it's not as clean or streamlined as the StandPLUS. Yes, but how do it match against a monopod, Which this seems to be in competition with.
@Robert.DeCorah
@Robert.DeCorah Жыл бұрын
I personally do not see this as being any competition for a monopod. This is mainly aimed at videographers filming themselves or getting locked off shots. A monopod would never be used without your hands always on it and the camera. The StandPLUS is meant to be set up and left alone so you can be in the shot. Monopods are not perfectly stable either for longer takes.

I bought it 2 Weeks ago - and boy this is different. But once you understand what the (ingenious) concept is, it starts blowing you away. a Tip for the colleagues: you may try to combine it with the other head Edelkrone makes: the flex tilt - and if you are wanting to drive this even further-try the SmallRig Rotatable Horizontal-to-Vertical Mount Plate Kit (at the moment Sony only)with it.
