I understand the lyrics. Sounds like he's talking about someone with Depression who he's had a good past with, but it's slowly being destroyed. But I really don't like the way the instrumental sounds, or how he says the words and then he plays something upbeat that doesn't fit the song. But, it's eden so I can't get mad. I just don't like this particular song. If you like this song, go Listen to Death of Dream. You'll get the same feel, but It sounds better.

I don't really see it the way you're describing. Depressed probably but this is definitely from "his" perspective. As for the instrumentals, they sound more melancholy to me. Almost like desperately hopeful. To me it's like an internal battle, sadness, hope then hopelessness, anger, and then sadness again. But that's just me x_x
