I did not see the same thing. She basically was berating this woman and rushing an already stressed hair stylist to the point she has to walk away and instead of giving her a minute she chases her into the bathroom and pretty much tells her to get back to work and do her daughters hair. And even after all that she kept on her stressing her out further with the "we cannot be late, she has to be down there, what can I do, how can i help you oh just calm down" all out of breath in a panic just hovering over the poor woman clasping her hands. The only we didn't see her do was stomp her feet and it was probably off camera.

I don't want to offend anyone, but why would you pressure a young child to do such things? They're going to grow up with expectations to be better than everyone else. If it's not pretty, then don't wear it. Beauty is pain. People like this mold their kids into such horrible situations. You'd have to chop my head off before putting my daughter through a pageant. For a crown? Money? Edit: her mom said it's all about her and for her. I'm pretty sure her daughter didn't ask to be put in a costume, have her hair pulled and damaged, makeup smudged into her face, itchy dresses, and being judged. It seems more like her _moms_ idea. "You have to pull yourself together" YOU pull yourself together. She's sick. She has brainwashed her so much, that the little girl wants to do big things BEFORE she turns 20, because after that, she's "too old" that sounds like her mom, and that's awful. Listen. If you're offended by my opinion, then just ignore it. There's literally a disclaimer at the BEGINING. If you get fed up, hot and bothered, then that's _your_ problem. Hop off my ass, thanks.

I prefer natural pageants (i think that's what they're called?). No crazy makeup or big wigs, just the kids dressed up and having fun. I feel like that takes away a lot of the stress. But ultimately, as we've seen in eden's mom, it's the parent that decides how they're gonna handle situations to make it as fun as possible. Some parents are all about the win and that's really damaging for the kid, regardless of the kind of pageant they enter.

Something tells me that if Eden had taken up the offer not to go out (especially with the cameras rolling) that her life would have been a living hell moving forward. She probably knew that on some level.

I did pageants when I was younger and honestly the kids I knew didn't have any pressure. This show just made everything 10 times more dramatic. It's kind of like the show Dance Moms in a sense.

Sorry. But one of my childhood friends was pushed into this and she is permanently fucked up for life from it. This isn't for the children. It's for the shitty mothers to feel good about themselves.

It's crazy to me that parents do this. I used to be a competitive dancer and my parents were so supportive of everything I did. I could've placed last and they still would've congratulated me and celebrated, because that's their job as parents: to support me, their child, whether I win or lose, succeed or fail. I can't wrap my head around parents who put tremendous pressure on their kids to do things that they clearly aren't comfortable or happy with, just to make the parents happy. It's awful.

The little girl didn't have a meltdown because she didn't want to let her mama down... She is stressed out, feels trapped, and just wants to be a little kid! Why do parents do this to kids?? Seriously.

The first pageant mom that I truly respect, she didn't make it about herself she cared about her child's feelings didn't force it on her gave her the choice to make a decision for herself and just wanted her kid to be happy she even considered about the hair dresser's feelings, a good mom and a good person .

Makes me wonder if Eden’ s mother is living her life through her daughter. Her reaction at the end, even interrupting her daughter on stage as she accepted the award, was tactless with no thought or regard for the feelings of the other children who lost or how their mothers were feeling. The mother has no decorum herself yet expects it from her daughter. I felt her approach with Eden was passive aggressive, she knew maternally that Eden would not back down from the pageant.

Exactly, winners or parents of winners should act respectfully towards the other people's feelings in the event, not hoot and hollar and gloat, be a gracious winner
@MsJubjubbird4 жыл бұрын
In another episode she said she entered her in her first pageant when she was still a baby. I think any of the parents who enter their kids under the age of 3 are living vicariously through their children. In another episode they went to Hollywood and mama was way more excited than the little girl
