Best flight story: Amsterdam going to Rio, back from a conference. The guy in the KLM counter asked "How was yout trip?" I said "It was great. It would only be perfect if I was flying first class... The guy then said "Well, let me see... Ok, from Paris to Rio I can't do much, but from here to Paris I got you an upgrade!" I was expecting free drinks or something. On my flight there were some managers (high-level) of my company, which were in the conference and watched my presentation (so they knew me, even though I was still a junior there). KLM began boarding calling 1st class. I was talking to the bosses and waiting to be called. Then the lady called the passenger on row 6... looked at my boarding pass and there I was. I went in just to find out I was in not business, but first class, with Champagne and cheese already waiting for me. Then business went aboard. Then the peasants. My company has this policy where everyone fly economy, even managers. So every single one of them gave me THE look as they passed on the way to the back area...

One time my dad got tickets to go to Canada. When we got to the airport we thought we were running late. (10:30) We were scurrying through security. When we got through the checkpoint, we ran to our gate as fast as we can. We look at the gate and it says Myrtle Beach. We were really confused, and we walked up to the desk. The lady at the desk starts laughing at us and she is like, “I’m sorry, but this ticket is for 10:45 pm not 10:45 am,” We we’re on standby for 4 different flights, but since there were three of us, and me and my brother were too young to hang out in the airport by ourselves for 12 hours. We had to wait for so long in the airports, since we had already been through security, and they said that if we leave, we can’t come back through again. The flight was nice though👍🏻

I’ve also had pretty good experiences with flights, but just like a couple weeks ago, our flight was SUPER delayed. We were at this super small airport and we were there like 2 hours before our flight. So our flight was supposed to leave at 1:30, but we didn’t leave until 5:30-6:00 ish. Yep. 😂. Luckily we didn’t have a connection but basically we lived at the airport that day. It wasn’t even because of weather. The airline didn’t even have an excuse, it was such a sunny day, and where we were flying also had good weather. We had lunch and dinner at the airport😂.

Tip: If you ask for a can of soda and cup of ice on the side, you get more than just a shot of soda. That's what I do when I'm traveling Also I feel you in this experience. On my way to Japan, I had 3 connecting flights. We arrived at the airport at 3:00am IN ThE MoRniNG, but my first flight was 4 hours late, then we had to rush to catch the next flight (which was 11 hours), and then in the final flight (which was only 30 minutes) the plane was delayed for another 6 hours. I almost fainted because we have been traveling for at least 24 hours and I did not sleep at all in the plane. fun times

(Sorry this is long) This is all taking place while coming back visiting my dad’s family in India. It’s an 8 hour flight from Bengaluru to Heathrow and 14 hour flight from Heathrow (In Longford, England) to Atlanta. Well while we’re in the Bengaluru airport, we (my parents and I) decided to get a sandwich from a café in the airport, since the US dollar earns you quite the amount of Rupees (Indian Currency). That was a HUGE mistake. While my parents got sandwiches with just chicken and onions, I got a full sub with mayonnaise, THAT WAS SPOILED. I ate two because I was tired and hungry, and I didn’t taste anything odd, must’ve been the hungry monster in me. Also, we had to wait 5 hours there because of a delay. I get on the 8hr flight and my stomach kind of upset, thought it was just air sickness. Going through the Heathrow airport was fine, again a little upset stomach. Then OH BOY, the second the flight attendants start serving food on the 14hr flight, I was puking in the bathroom. They tried to give me medicine that was expired by 15 years, it dissolved in water and it was disgusting. I was still sick when we got to Atlanta, and I puked all over the bathroom floor and almost got put into that quarantine airport room where you gotta stay there for awhile if you come back ill. Luckily I didn’t have to stay there but a nice nap on the car ride home and a few gatorades helped. I had extreme food poisoning with dehydration... so uh yeah, that’s my bad flight story.

I’ve only been on “Royalty” section once. They served some nice ravioli, it was the best time of my travel life. But anyway, I was flying to Panama for a mission trip to go with my parents that were gonna preach in a poor village. It was SO FRICKIN HUMID. We were sleeping on the floor in sleeping bags while sweating and getting bitten by some evil mosquitoes. There was no plumbing, so guess what! WE USED AN OUTHOUSE. There were a whole bunch of skinny, hungry dogs walking around 24/7 (and I love animals 😭).Everyone there was really nice and we got to stay in a hotel afterwards, so that was nice... I guess. But the best part was seeing the Panama Canal-Which was enormous. Overall I loved it, and it was a pretty dang hardcore experience. Wow I’ve been rambling

Great story! I once boarded a flight in Boston...to Michigan and lemme tell ya, I have yet to have the ssshhh scared outta me like this one. Wheels up in Boston, the familiar thud of the landing gear retracting into the underbelly of the jet. 30 seconds afterwards....a giant " thud" shook the plane in flight. It shook the fuselage like Dynamite shakes a quarry. I looked around to see if anyone we're as upset as myself and it wasn't a dream...everyone was shaken and visibly upset. Did we hit a reindeer in flight? Did the plane suffer a catastrophic loss? No explanation was given. We boarded a flight from Detroit to Asheville and I kissed the ground upon arrival. I am still confused as to what happened and I guess I will never know!

Flights are scary the first time you go on them, especially if you are already nervous. I found the best thing to do is occupy yourself and don’t think about crashing and dying because it doesn’t happen often. I just watched movies and tv shows on my first flight (which was 5 hours) and then it was way less scary from then. (I actually took two back to back flights that totalled something like 12-13 hours so it totally gets less scary the more often you do it ).

Like when the ramp that attaches to the plane was broken and we were waiting in the plane for them to fix it for an hour and a half, yeah, that was fun, or that other time when they tell you the plane will be in platform C5, but when you go there to board, it's empty, nobody's around and nobody told you that they moved your flight to platform A7, all the way on the other side of the mile-and-a-half airport (Colorado), yeah, that was fun too.

I was at a concert in Little Rock over a year ago and when we were coming back our flight from Little Rock to Denver was delayed because apparently we had bad weather when it was just a little bit windy. My flight back to Calgary already left once we got on the plane. We had to be put on stand by but 6 people missed their flight so everyone I went to the concert with were able to go on the plane. Some guy was nice enough to switch seats with me because I was scared and wanted to sit with my dad so that was nice.

Lmao. Girl, my first trip that I had to use air travel was crazy. Going there rocked. It was awesome. Going home sucked. I was already sad I had to leave my boyfriend. Throughout the trip home I was on and off again crying because I have to go a year without seeing my boyfriend because he is in the military. My 12 hour flight home was terrible. I sat directly in front of the bathroom and the guy in front of me reclined and I was squished the whole time while having a kidney infection. I asked him if he could lift his chair up a bit and he rudely asked “WHY” if I wouldn’t have been on a plane his ass would have been flipped out of his chair. There was a girl with crutches next to me and a small child. I had the window seat. So it was actually difficult to get to the bathroom even though I was so close to it. I didn’t want to put them through the trouble of moving out of the way. Then when I got to my last flight that was only supposed to be an hour long, it was delayed. I was so pissed. I was sick from the bathroom smelling so bad and having a kidney infection that was starting to come on. I wanted to go home, shower, vomit, and go to bed. I had been up for 30 hours and I was over it. 😂 the peasant section is honestly an accurate name for it

I remember that once I also had a delayed flight. It was back in summer of 2003, but I still remember that. We're (me, my older brother, our mom and our known's daughter) supposed to fly to Egypt. Eden was wondering why some people were buying an alcohol in the airport. I don't know if duty frees exist in other countries, but in Russian airports they do exist. By the way we also bought an alcohol in duty free. We also had a connection, but not between planes. We're from Saint-Petersburg and the flight we had was from one of our country's capital's (Moscow) airports. I don't remember all the details, because it was almost 18 years ago and some of them just vanished. We were supposed to fly from Domodedovo (that's the airport) at 3:30 pm, but at the time we should've been on the plane the intercom lady said that the flight was delayed to 6:30 pm because of technical issues. By the time we finally flew (at 6:30 pm) those issues were fixed. The weather was good

I had a 12 hour delay at the airport with 20 bored people in my group. We were bored, anxious, costrophobic, and FINALLY they called our flight to board. And when we got on we were so happy to get going. Once everyone was seated, everyone was buzzing, and hugging each other. "So we need you to hop off folks, we need to fill the tank, so you'll board another plane in about 5 hours." 😶😭 We eventually got to Florida, had fun, and got delayed on the way back...

Worst and second best flight stories. In my bad story, I was travelling from Rio to Paris and I was the medical emergency... I passed out on the way to the bathroom and hit my head to the wall... It took me almost half hour in the galley floor to recover. My second best flight: I was going from Houston back home (Rio de Janeiro). My USAirways flight to Charllote got cancelled and I was going to lose my connection. I was sent to United which had a nice direct flight (Hooray!!!), but it was overbooked (booooo!). So I told the United lady in the counter "How come you don't have any seat for me? Why don't you give me an upgrade to Business and charge it to USAirways?" The lady gave me a puzzled look typed something on the computer and said "ok, boarding is at XX:XX" (don´t remember)... Went to one of the board pass printing machines and voilá! I got Business!!! and the boarding pass was decorated with golden lines (NOT KIDDING!)... I was with the royalty!!!
