Popups work but just for bigger fish if you just want to catch use a rietvlei strop with mielies on the hook

Google Maps Edenvale Quarry. Easiest way to locate it but it's off Herman street close to builders warehouse

Sorry to see you blank on your first carp fishing experience. :( Unfortunately it is a really tough place to catch carp. With the dam having big drop offs and being rather deep in most areas, and with all the snags and structure on the bottom, it is really difficult to get a good presentation. Better luck next time.
