Why cant you use pythagoras on the circles c2 and c3 to find the radius?

What would you choose as your other length so that you can use Pythagoras?

@@AJMaths (1,4) so root {1^2 +4^2} to equal 17 where root{17} is your radius, I'm also struggling with this

I’m confused on the last question asking for the equation on the tangent, what is y-y1=m(x-x1) is this the same as y=mc+c bc at the end I got y=1/2x-7

So it’s rearranged to be 1/2x-y-7=0? And I meant y=mx+c before
