I can't belive I survived this. It started as a let's-try-something-stupid run and turned into a very intense battle. When my Balam got trashed, I thought I was going to die within mere seconds. So I ignored the 15 minute timer of the PS4's recording system. That's why the first 30 seconds are missing. The HP of the Balam are my proof that this is Inferno: He clocks in at 999999 HP, on Hardest he only has 520000.

after dying 3 times. ( the last death was me testing to see if as a wing diver could stand on a balam. answer: no. you just get crushed in the gears) I got all of the balams to survive until the adult erginus was near death in my own balam. ...then the game said 50% balams were dead, sending reinforcements. hahahhaha even thought i was piloting the 'last balam'. and no balam reinforcements didn't spawn. edit: *blink* I did not know that a, Balams could movie that fast. thanks shitty rig. b, I could cancel falling down with the pose. thanks for the info!

It was a whole thing in the story where guns and such couldn't pierce their hide (which is clearly BS) but they could be killed with huge amounts of blunt force trauma. Basically it was an excuse to have a bunch of robots punching discount godzillas.

Sadly, vehicle controls can't be changed. Higher level helicopters are way easier to fly than low level ones. Most important is to use the right stick carefully (never 100%) and even more careful counter-steer.

I played EDF 4.1 for 4 years and left it in 2018. In my time, 20k wasn't much. Having a 100k Fencer was pretty standard for veteran players. AFK farming was more or less a requirement in 4.1. A playlist about farming should be linked in all my video descriptions. Cheating was also a thing. I still got a screenshot of an Air Raider with 1 billion HP, having an AF100 in the vehicle slot. I'll post it in the community section.

Hey, do you have any tips on controlling helicopters? I have the Fire Neidred (?) and some level 50-57 weapons and really want to try and beat this on Inferno with my buddy. Think it's doable?

Could be possible in two player mode. But the helicopters in that level range are too weak to kill an Erginus. They have more than 600k HP in this mission (4 times Gungnir = not dead). The Bazelart Powered can do 960k dmg with his machine guns and guided missiles. The Fire Nereid does only 450k dmg, assuming that all those unguided bombs hit by some kind of miracle. I'd say try to do this mission as intended by the game. IMHO the best way for you would be using a Wing Diver and an Air Raider. The Wing Diver kills the insects to ensure that no Balam wanders off chasing a single ant. The Air Raider should bring your best Railgun and Power Assist Gun to help killing the Erginus. You can't really hurt them, but if you hit them hard enough they will get staggered, buying time for the Balams to do their work. Godspeed and please tell me if you succeeded.
