Just imagine the day when this scenario isn't entertainment. What happens when/IF the US is hit with an EMP or something worse. Many people will starve and the people that don't will be taking advantage of people and abusing women and children. I pray nothing ever happens but if it does hopefully people are prepared and they don't stop to ask questions.

If government controls the food supplies surplus now won’t matter. They control the people by controlling the food supply. I've been into watching I shouldn't be alive type of documentaries lately. Accidentally fell asleep to one with my headphones on and woke up thinking I was stranded in a desert about die! I started praying lol and snapped out of it. Im like I am NOT in a desert right now I'm in my bed. Snatched the headphones off so fast.! Love disaster apocalypse(zombie and realistic situations) survival movies and shows idk. But I kinda feel like we are the chosen ones to lead a pact of people when SHTF. We're subconsciously downloading tons of useful information. They'll see. They'll see.

@MrMirville Rome degenerated - with the aid of three major invasions - over several centuries. Carthage collapsed not because of degeneracy but because of the Punic wars. Those and Cicero sullied historical accounts of Carthage (and they may be true), but, that aside, I don't think its demise will be within days. Case in point is Mexico, where vast swaths are run by gangs, the central regime not venturing into those territories, a scenario I see for the US when the central regime there crumbles. As a backdrop, think of its infighting, debt, and simple incompetence - all with deindustrialization and a military that can't defend the country.
