Kurt Angle is a 14-time professional wrestling world champion, with titles collected in WWE, TNA, and Japan. He is in both the WWE and TNA/Impact Hall of Fames, a two-time NCAA Division 1 National Champion, and has also won a gold medal in freestyle wrestling at the 1996 Summer Games with, as he likes to say, ‘a broken freaking neck.’ At every stop in his career, Angle has reached the top of the mountain, and now he’s taking his Three I’s; Intensity, Intelligence, and Integrity, to the podcast world as he joins host Conrad Thompson to take a look back at some of the matches, feuds and moments that turned an Olympic gold medalist into one of the greatest sports entertainers of all time. It’s True. It’s damn true

It's funny just how short of a time period the "Smackdown 6" was despite leaving such a big impression all these years later. Edge was out in February, Angle was out after WrestleMania, and Chavo was out shortly after Backlash. I also think while Heyman deserves a lot of the credit, Michael Hayes, Stephanie McMahon, and Bruce Prichard often get forgotten in that mix, as well as Brian Gerwitz who was an Angle and Edge guy. There really weren't separate writing teams at the time, instead the crews pulled double duty, except for Heyman if Bruce is to be believed.

Very well put, honestly the most consistent memory I have for Smackdown within the original Brand Extension from 2002 to 2011 were Rey (despite spending a year on Raw in '08-'09 where he STILL popped back up on Smackdown a handful of times) and Undertaker. In my opinion they were the nonstop heart and soul of Smackdown during that time.

Smackdown six for me was my favourite period of the show and there was so many good memories watching those guys putting on classics every single week, as a wrestling fan, I absolutely loved it

Plus John cena as the Dr of thuganomics.. A young Brock Lesnar.. The last year's of the American badass.. I don't care how many people say the attitude era was the best.. Smackdown in my opinion between 2002-2004 was the best wrestling product WWE has ever done

@@Facelessman254 i couldn't agree with you more. That period was my all time favourite Smackdown, everyone on that roster was at the top of their game and putting on a pure wrestling show everything, the brand wasn't just built around one guy, it was a true team effort and everyone involved benefitted greatly.

Not really. I mean between 2002 and 2003 yes. 2004-2006 no. 2007 -early 2009 yes. And then 2010-2011 yes.

@@RoninBgk does that count? The ECW title in WWE was probably lower on the totem pole than the IC title except maybe when they had Undertaker deciding who to face at wrestlemania 23 and they brought Batista, Cena, and Lashley out tor the decision. Everyone knew it wouldn’t be Lashley though.

He was underrated. He did not have the charisma and personality of Eddie but was a heck of a technician/wrestler. The WCW LWO could all go! He just did not have the Eddie mic skills.
@Deathpool_04

@@supersaturn956 I think it’s because he’s overshadowed by Eddie. Together, they were brilliant but by themselves, Chavo was just half of who Eddie was. I wouldn’t say Chavo didn’t have any charisma or personality but he just didn’t have those as much as Eddie.
