Love your positivity, man. Can't stop binging on your videos. Lots of interesting stuff too, even for a total newb like myself. Learn a lot. The fact that you don't show the stuff you don't like deserves separate respect. The old motto of "If you don't have anything nice to say about it - don't say anything at all!" still stands. Thanks for the content and keep up the AWESOME work you do. Cheers from a [hopefully soon] frozen wasteland of Moscow suburbs.

Just started using Edge Welding Glass products and they are AMAZING! The reason you won't go back to the ceramic has to do with the extra screens that are in the glass. It makes your arch 10x more stable because the gas flow is UNREAL SMOOTH! That's why I am so hooked on Edges glass cups. I just can't go back to ceramic.

Excellent presentation. I think I'm finally gonna branch out beyond the old pink cups I've used for years. I saw some rather unorthodox shapes on the Edge website. Have you tried any of those really long XXL cups or the "#12 narrow" with the rectangle opening?
@77Avadon772 жыл бұрын
Once you do you'll never go back. I was one of the last ones to start with the glass cups thinking it was gimmick. It's NOT! The extra screens you can put in the glass cups make the arc tremendously more stable because all those little stacked screens. Once I tried edge cups for about 30hrs of welding I knew I was hooked. Went back and bought a few hundred dollars of their cups. Now i'll just use my ceramics till they run out and not renew them.

Pacific Arc Tig Welding Yes I do, I have done a bunch of pieces on stainless. Some of them are on oldschoolrestoration on Instagram. I will have to look your IG up if you have one. I like that you seem to do a lot of freehand drawing on plates. Most art welders use clip art and other stuff to make it easier.

Thanks! I appreciate you say that. I have used a stencil for one piece, but am trying to do it completely without now, I like drawing the pieces from my sketches and ideas freehand, straight up. Makes them more original I feel:) Tag me on Instagram! I’d love to see:)

@PacificArcTigWelding4 жыл бұрын

@TheRipeTomatoFarms4 жыл бұрын
@@PacificArcTigWelding so, easier to replace the whole cup plus O-ring than just the O-ring?
@PacificArcTigWelding4 жыл бұрын
No; it’s a common type of heat resistant o-ring, I think they’re generic sizes. You can just order replacement pieces off amazon:) I’m sure they’re used for lots of different things. 🍻

Do you have a basics video on how many amps for different types of metals ? I tried out my tig welder yesterday, I found out I did alot wrong after trying aluminum & also I tried outside in the open air. I had alot of respect for your talent, I never expected to be able to do it very good in the beginning but now my respect for your skill is tremendous. I need a few pointers for starting. On my AC cleaning am I supposed to be on the 30% or 70% Also ceriated tungsten is it no good for aluminum ?
@PacificArcTigWelding4 жыл бұрын
You can use ceriated for sure! I find I tend lo enjoy it more on an inverter as opposed to a transformer type machine, but you can rip AC or DC with it. For your balance, a great ballpark is to start 70% DC- and 30% DC+. This will give you great cleaning action and with a balled tungsten, it’ll hold its shape well. As far as a general vid on settings, I don’t have one video. If you watch my demo ones I did a while back on the 4 welding joints and the torch setup it’ll get you pointed in the right direction with ballpark settings. I also have a couple stainless vids where I go over some settings for flat position that’ll get you started:)

1st how do you get tungsten out of your eye ? (I had a mask on & my glasses were sitting out so as to not fog them) I guess at this point, I'm going to need to figure out the questions 1st if you get my drift. I take it you must've had some welding experience or training ? I think there's a tig training center down the road from me.

Another really cool art piece Dusty. These cups look pretty nice. I was actually looking around earlier today and found there site. Then this video was the next in my journey through your video playlist. They look like a good alternative to Furick, I don't care for the choice of acronyms he uses for the FUPA line it's a rather vulgar term. Not sure what the other acronyms he uses stand for bit I imagine they aren't much different.

Absolutely. If you have any broken back caps send them my way. I'll salvage the brass part and make some custom ones. Or do you know a source for the brass threaded part. I'm assuming different torches have different size threads.
