So helpful !!! I was trying to do edgecomb gray in one room and fog mist in another but the fog mist took on pink ! I thought I was seeing things . Going to try winds breath

Picking a color can be TOUGH! Make sure to get white paper around your samples, as your existing color can really skew your perception - it even helps me and I know what I'm looking for! I would say Fog MIst SHOULDN'T flash pink, if anything it's vaguely inclined towards green!

I’ve read Edgecomb gray is similar to Sherwin Williams Anew gray? Last year I started researching Sherwin Williams, White Sesame, at the time it was classified as a warm gray. Once I got around to choosing it then it change to be classified as a taupe. Which I always thought it was a taupe when I looked at it, which is what I wanted. My trim was already High reflective white and I really do like it. I find very little information out there on it though.

Love ur videos.. I have reddish brown roof with white trim and white garage with a faded chimney in front. Would like white trim and windows in front. Need ideas on body of house color. Like warm, taupe or like a sandy color. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If my room is somewhat dark it sounds like Edgecomb Gray is not the best choice. Would Wind's Breath be a better option to try?

What are your thoughts on lightening Edgecomb Grey 25% or 50% as I have a North facing kitchen and family room? I was thinking lightened BM Edgecomb Grey on walls and BM Simply White on cabinets...With gratitude for all your commentary, excellent advice and sense of humor.

I've had GREAT SUCCESS lightening Edgecomb by varying degrees! However, watch the Simply White doesn't come up too yellow with it. You might shift to SW Pure White or BM Chantilly Lace :)

I love either accessible beige or edgecomb gray however would either of these work in a room that has some pale yellow accents? Thank you

Ooooo, I'm not feeling them too much with pale yellow as they could look a bit too dingy in comparison. You might need to lean into a nice warm white or cream, perhaps?

I have done the colour drenching with agreeable gray a couple of times looks great, especially on the ceiling,easy to cut in,but it’s hard to pull off on the doors, especially if the backside of the door is a different colour, if you know what I mean, where do you stop or start?

THAT is a great question. Right now, my office door is open and I'm in my office looking at the front of it, the back of it as against the wall. The front exposed edge i'm looking at is also painted the same as the front of the door - this is how my office door usually is. If the back were a different color, and I painted this front ledge that color, I would be looking at two different colors right now (without seeing the back of the door), so the front edge wouldn't make sense to be its own color, you know? As for the interior edge, again, I'm thinking it's proooooobably going to need to be the same as the front of the door. LOOOONG story short, while there could be exceptions, those two edges should be the same as the front of the door, if you're most often looking at the front of it. Does this make ANY SENSE???

If you have an oak that is lighter but a red oak with Edgecomb Grey and with White Dove would you use White Dove for the ceiling beams and the ceiling color?

Painter 25 years. A new trend I would like to see everywhere in this country : start painting the trim actual colors instead of white. Walls where the trim is painted an accent color darker than the walls is just beautiful. You do not see that near often enough.Same for ceilings. They do not always need to be piure white. Off white / cream is really nice on a ceiling.

Oooo yes, I'm seeing a 'bit' more of this with colors like Agreeable Gray/Accessible beige, but definitely not anything much darker...yet! What do you think about the 'color drenching' trend, where the walls/trims are all the same color (and sometimes the ceiling too), but in their respective sheens? I just did it in my home office, to see what it feels like - I'm a bit ambivalent. I think I'd like it if it were darker, but at least I know now that it isn't REALLY for me. Or if I had some decorative moldings, i might like it a bit more.

No problem! As for Decorator's White, it's a tough one as it has a violet undertone that can be pretty darn fussy with colors like EG.

I've tried both on white paper in different spots. Both EG & CG seem to look ok but the job is expansive enough I'd hate to make a true mistake

​@@KylieMInteriorsPaintUPDATE: pulled the trigger on EG. Honestly looks a little taupe-y in some areas but with our midnight blue sectional and concrete ceiling, it ended up playing quite nicely with DW trim. I was a little worried, but it ended quite well after all!

Watched that whole thing and no ash floors, light oak, gray wash or anything else that's from this decade... Not a great use of time. Standing a bit in front of the trim you hold in left hand gives a shadow and can make the comparison more difficult too.

I do the best I can, given that the info I'm giving out is free and I'm just working out of my spare bedroom! As for gray wash, it's not trending anymore and will be a video unto itself. Ash isn't as popular. Light oak is super popular - I'm surprised you have all 3 in your home! I seriously try to cover as many bases as I can without making 1/2 hour videos. You might spend your time better buying a design book or hiring someone if you're looking for specifics - sorry this info wasn't helpful for you!

Ahhhh, I hear ya, but a) some people still love gray and b) Edgecomb Gray is extra amazeballs as it sits in between gray and beige. It can be a great transition color for those who want to get OUT of gray, but their finishes don't suit beige or cream :)

Greige. Just called it that. BTW; the whole gray trend = live the mausoleum life. Prepare for your post-life confinement. Horrid. I cannot wait until this trend is OVER. It eats life, brightness, light. It sucks passion and energy right out of a space. smh.
