Excellent review. As of mid 2019, FAA carry-on size = 9x14x22 inches, which are the exact dimensions of this bag. Since it's not a hard shell, if you stuff it full, you can definitely exceed those limits all around by several inches.

GREAT Review, Keelen! One of these days, i'll have to get some type of back pack style bag to replace my school backpack. My current backpack is somewhere around 5 years old, and I always have to sew it up where it rips. I'm sure Maxpedition carries something similar to what i'm looking for. Aside from that note, that bag looks outstanding! I'm sure that in the future i'll pick up a bunch of their stuff!

@TheEnglishRedneck45 In light rain the water beads off. It has a lot to do with the coating that Maxpedition uses on their Nylon. If it is raining hard or if it gets submerged it will retain water just as you would expect. Overall, I have been very impressed with its water resistance.

@edgedweapon88 Cheers - some of their packs seem to be touted (not by Maxpediton themselves, but rather reviewers) as being extraordinarily water resistant - such as the Condor 2 and Vulcan 2, with some kind of teflon coating. I'd iamgine it's the same coating on your Fliegerduffel? I just very wary of water resistance, as I used to go solely with Berghaus gear, but after two extended trips where the bag got beat up, the material seemed to really just absorb water! Now, Maxpedition it is.

I don't see why you couldn't I'm planning a trans-Atlantic and American Airlines says I can have one carry on PLUS a laptop bag, purse, briefcase or tote bag. As long as you're not stupid and try too much you should be okay.
