If you have lots of mana, You can use Rite of Replication Kicked on Unesh to activate enough “fact or fiction” effect to look through all the deck. In that way you just need to take Laboratory Maniac and a card for drawing (like a land with Cycling).

I think that Jace, Wielder of Mysterious would be more useful than Lab man in the deck. Mostly because Jace does more than just have an alt win con. Also Spark Double could be a good card to test out too

Martin here - This is actually my deck! I wanted to prove that blue could have a powerful creature based deck, with minimal couterspells. It had the added bonus of disgusting Alex at the same time! 🤣

I’m not a judge (nor do I play one on TV), but since Unesh doesn’t technically draw, I’m not sure if he actually triggers Lab Maniacs. However, since he doesn’t technically draw, you can use effects that prevent players from drawing (like Omen Machine) to shut down the table while Unesh continues to get you cards. (I know, I’m unbearably savage.) Oh, also, Deadeye Navigator, because continually blinking your Sphinxes for more cards is Fair and Balanced Magic™️.

You are 100% correct, Unesh doesn't draw cards. However, lab maniac still works when you draw for turn, although admittedly he does have to survive a turn for this to work. Hopefully if it ever gets to this stage, you'd have drawn enough protection to keep him around! 😃

its pretty scary how i have the same exact deck, but mine has a more control aspect inspired by wedge’s idea of no draw for each opponent with cards like omen machine, uba mask

I love wedge's no draw version of the deck. Lots of fun to turn off everyone's draw and pretty much making them stop playing magic while sacrificing all their permanents while I just discard useless cards from my endless unesh triggers

I would throw in helm of the host to copy because you can never have to many cards
