Not really practical for most occasions, but it might be cute to have around at a kids party or a pool party. And it's great that you researched, and recreated the science to make them. Good job.

+johnny nguyen of course I did. I was just jokin'.
@johnnynguyen1479 жыл бұрын
PauliG how is it a joke, it doesn't make sense
@PauliG9 жыл бұрын
+johnny nguyen Well, water, when it gets really cold, becomes ice...and you can eat it. So it's kind of like these edible water bottles, only without an actual "container" so a little less like a water bottle. This guy is pleasant to watch and probably a cool dude, but these are just a fun science project, not functional. (As he points out) Why are you so defensive? I can't believe I had to explain the joke. It wasn't hilarious but kind of obvious.

This process is actually called spherification, its more of an avant garde cooking technique used by popular chefs around the globe. If you'd like to know more about these types of "experiments" watch videos on Molecular Gastronomy. I majored in Culinary Science at the Culinary Institute of America, and this wasn't a very great interpretation on what amazing things you can do with food.

madi hill but if its not edible than why is it there? video says "edible water bottle". if ur not eating the "bottle" than wats the point of doing all that other crap instead of just getting a bottle of water? =/ pointless video

a chicken isnt even realtive to this. chicken bones are in the chicken..not added. video says edible water bottle. cool video none the less but the title leads me to believe that he made some type of water container that is not only durable enough to carry but also disolves when u eat it, or sumthing along those lines. thats y i checked out the video. should change name to "How to make a water bottle". if title says edible bottle and bottle isnt edible then hes just drinking water out of a thing, dont matter wat thing if u cant eat the container as well =p

I too think this is a bit impractical to be an edible water bottle...Also, something about putting additives into water that just doesn't sound appealing to me. However it looks like a fun water project to keep kids busy and they can make their own water balloons :)

Did you know that the membrane thing is edible? You know the popping balls at ice cream stores? This is the SAME thing you use, but the just put 1 drop of flavoring into the sodium algonate, so it's a mini water bottle.
