Not sure why these are classed as bookshelf speakers, they're really powerful and fill a large room more than happily. I'm about 4 metres away from mine in a room sized about 6m by 6m and Bluetooth music from my phone, and I've only ever turned them up to maximum volume once just to test them, ridiculously loud, and they sounded beautiful too, no distortion, no rough edges, these are really superb. I demo'd the Kef LXS speakers before I bought these and I'm more than happy with my decision (half the price of the Kef's too)

I’ve owned my S3000Pro MK1’s for 3 years now and use them for music and movies. Zero problems. For that use I just put them in Dynamic. They sound much more lively and airy at the top and still have good bass. Mine are on stands. Sitting 3.5 meters away in a 40 square meter room with vaulted ceilings they read 85db at only 60% volume so way powerful enough for most duties. I might add an SVS 3000micro sub in the future to release them from driving to frequencies below 80Hz but that would only be icing on the cake. It’s not vital. They already sound good enough. I’m European, but live in Asia. In EU the price is around 600-700 Euros? Over here the price is just RIDICULOUS at 380 EUROS a pair!!!! The only annoying thing with the MK1 is that you can’t tell what volume they are at easily when using the remote control as they don’t have a visual display showing the volume level from 1 to 50? You have to turn them down to zero using the remote, then count the blinks on the front LED as you slowly increase volume. I think the MK2 uses an app to control EQ/DSP/volume, so a big improvement in functionality over the MK1. If they had a sub out and bass management in the app you might as well forget about KEF LS50II’s. They are 4-500% more expensive without the expensive KEF stands! Edifier might rule the world if they did the decent thing and brought out a MK3 with those added features! If I wanted an amazing system today in 2024 for music and 2.1 movies that will blow anything out of the water worth 3000 + Euros I’d go for the S3000PRO MK2’s and also the brand new WIIM Ultra wireless DAC. It has sub out with bass management AND ROOM CORRECTION! Amazing functionality with their app and constant improvements with regular updates. All that for 350 Euros!!!! Add an SVS 1000Pro sub and you have a whole wireless system for around 1600 Euros. You just won’t find better until you start spending multiple thousands. Highly recommend.👍

do I win anything with an upgrade from my brand new s2000 mkiii to s3000 pro (if it's a good bargain)? I do love pretty much everything about these little boomboxes. The only thing probably is that on volume over 35 I have to reduce bass due to the sound distortions (mostly on some rap and trap soundtracks), yet it doesn't annoy that much. So, what do you say?

Considering value for money would you get the S2000 MKIII or the S3000 pro for a living room set up?
@abtelectronics3 жыл бұрын
@Raul Gibran Ovalle. If this is going to be your main audio source and you plan to keep it for several years, the S3000 is a better choice. Yes, it's a bit more of an investment, but it's more powerful, has a better frequency range, more inputs (adds USB and Balanced line in) and doesn't require a physical connection between the two speakers for a much easier setup. S3000Pros or Klipsch THE FIVES for as TV speakers for movies etc and why ? Thx
@abtelectronics Жыл бұрын
@GOLFADDICT65 They're both great options to use as a soundbar replacement. The Klipsch Fives have an HDMI ARC connection which can make hooking up to your TV a little easier, but they're not quite as powerful as the Edifier S3000Pros. The S3000Pros don't have that HDMI connection, but they're more powerful and have larger drivers for bass output so they'll give you a little deeper bass and overall bigger sound. If you need further assistance picking out the right one for your needs, be sure to contact our audio experts at 800-860-3736. I'm lucky: I live in a part of the world where a store can sell you these and you get to hear them first -- so I auditioned the s3000pro and also the s2000mkiii, and, I don't believe I'm saying this, but the s2000mkiii sounds much better to my ear. Much more cohesive and musical, better imaging and detail resolution, cleaner mids, better grip and control. And I do not find them lacking for bass, at least in my room with my listening tastes.

Edifier s 2000 mk3 or klipsch the fives? Thanks!!!!
@CinemaDemocratica Жыл бұрын
@@marcelomunoz4130 This would depend to some extent on the application, listening tastes, and the room. Room: Here in Cambodia most housing units are fashioned from some combination of brick and poured concrete, and supplied furnishings are minimal. In such a slap-happy space, a pair of KT5's would, I think, be too bright. As it stands I had some small accent pillows made for my listening room and hung them in the corners and midway along the sidewalls to cut down on HF resonances. The Edifiers aren't slow by any means, and I don't think their frequency response is particularly mid- or bottom heavy, but in a thick-carpeted room with puffy furniture the Fives might perform better. Application: The Fives are probably the better choice for home theater, all other things equal, but I think I'd prefer the Edifiers in a music-first system or in one that planned to do both. You didn't ask this part, but I don't think either speaker is a good choice for a literal desktop system because they're too big. The Fives look the part -- they're too big for a desk on sight -- but the s2000's are sneaky big as well. Sitting on a pair of bespoke wooden stands at about 60cm, they're just about as big as I'd want in a room that measures about 250cm across the front. Which reminds me, the Fives will do better in a bigger room, all other things equal: The s2000's aren't as good at high SPL's and you can definitely hear their character start to harden as you progress to higher volumes. For low-to-moderate-level music listening, especially on-axis, the s2000s are much more liquid and cohesive and their imaging and soundstaging completely blow the Fives away. Tastes: I listen to a lot of music which is pretty bare-bones and concentrated in the mid- to upper midrange, in the form of either small-ensemble "hotel bar jazz" like Dave Brubeck and Wynton Marsallis, or chamber music from the baroque, classical, and romantic periods. This source material is going to expose two things about a speaker very quickly: First, if the speaker's response curve is "smile shaped," with emphasized bass and treble, I'll be the first person to know and not like it. Second, if the speaker's detail clarity is either veiled or too etched and class-D sounding, that will come across immediately as well. With these requirements the s2000 make a no-brainer choice for me, but for a listener of rock -- particularly what might be called "main-line rock," so, not heavy metal and not pop, things like U2 and Radiohead and REM -- the Edifiers probably won't render an "exciting" enough presentation, vs the Fives. If you like the Rattle and Hum album at anything more than about 85 or 90dB, I'd get the Fives. It's what they were built for. Postscript: A speaker that isn't on your list of finalists right now but which might be worth researching a little is the Swan M200. As always it's a YMMV proposition, but I think the Swans do what the Fives do, and maybe in a way that's just a bit more flexible. Whether they sound better is a matter of taste, but I think it's a more objectively true statement to say that you can switch between different applications and different playlists more easily with the Swans, whereas the Klipsch's are going to remind you that you're not rocking out whenever you're not rocking out. I hope that helps! Second postscript: I just had another thought, which is that the Q Acoustics M20 might be worth a listen, too. They're more all-round speakers, but with character leaning more toward my Edifiers. The way this would make them a good choice is if you read this review and thought, "Well the Edifiers sound better for my needs except for the low-volume, near-field stuff." The M20s are just a little more capable in transitioning to the big&loud stuff. If you imagine what I've been saying as a continuum, I believe it would go: Edifier s2000mkiii Klipsch The Fives

@@MaxPower-zp7wy that's a silly comparison. That's like a Klipsch Three or something. Nowhere near the frequency range of Edifier S3000 Pro. The NX has listed "54 Hz - 40kHz" on the lower end. This basically has no bass. It's comparable to Edifier R2000DB.

Edifier are a cheap chinese brand don't trust them.
