I own the S760D and using it daily via Optical Cable from my PC, The sound is very good. You not even using adjustment on Sub (it can boost the Subwoofer volume up to +9)

Yeah, the sound is ok, there is just no power in the system!

Hi, I really wanted to buy this audio system but after reading some reviews and watching your video, I won't buy it. I'm probably going to get a receiver plus separate speakers as you showed in the video, it's a hassle but as long as they're going to sound good and have alot of features, it's worth it. Cheers :)

yeah, I'm getting a receiver and speaker system next week and will then make a video about it once installed. This S760D is just not worth the price

I have an s760d 2017 version. I've connect them with optic cable to the computer. After 45-60 seconds at maximum volume 4 middle satelite speaker are burned. Why?! I am very very upset. How it is possible?

Nice video, it has more bass than s550 encore or logitech z5500 or z906?

jeg bruger optical men min bass er meget lav og det virker ikke i surround ved du hvad jeg har gjort forkert?

You really need a real sound card on your desktop - computer, a sound card with 5.1 , 3 imput's for sistem and conect jack to rca on all 3 and you will get full volume. You converted the sound for all satelities , that's why you got only that volume, they are all 5 on front instead of true 5.1. The logitech got amp for 5.1 is not all about sound card like Edifier.
@superclaus2324 жыл бұрын
It's not the sound card that set the limits in this test, it's the S760D. When using analog input, it's through an active mixer, still you can hear the S760D clipping the sound (poor amp in the S760D) when the mixer is at around 50% level. When connected with the optical cable, the sound source is the HDMI port and you have what you call "true 5.1". The volume is still low.

@@superclaus232 I got this system 1 week ago, was working... atleast 1 min playing at max volume, after 1 min only 1 speaker work from 5. The volume was powerfull, the bass was to much ... but the amplification is shit on this edifier. I send him to return, good system but amp is really shit.

The real problem with S760D is the hissing sound from the tweeters. Otherwise its perfect. I dont know why you get such low volume. My Edifiers are connected through the 5.1 channel directly to my computer and when I turn the volume at around 50 the windows are going to shatter - I cant stand in the same room, the sound is that loud! But man, that hissing sound from the tweeters is just awful! I can hear the hissing from 1 meter away when no music is playing. I guess every pair has it because I changed mine once already and got a new pair with the exact same hiss (the old one burned without sound on)...
@superclaus2324 жыл бұрын
Yes, I don't know either, but my volume was really low both with optical input and analog input from the mixer. You can hear how fast the S760D clips the signal when using analog input and this was not a problem on the old logitech sound system. From the other reviews of the 760D, one could get the impression that it has been delivered with two different internal amp. settings, even that this sounds weird, but that would also explain why you have hissing tweeter noise and I didn't. This was actually the main reason for me to try something new than the old Logitech. I have now bought a nice receiver and nice speaker system instead of the S760D in the video (that I returned). This system cost a few more euro but it's worth it when you want an high end sound system for your computer setup. I'll soon post a video of this setup.

@@superclaus232 so what's your new setup now? Was thinking of the s706D for a good while now, but could use a good alternatives within similar-ish price bracket

I got another problem with S760D i got perfect sound from 2 speaker's. But from the rest only tweeters works. The same conection , 5.1 with 3 cables , 3x jack with 6 rca, and is not working. I returned mine and now i want to get the same system from them, i hope the new one will work, is so sad when somebody spend that much money on something and for some reason didn't work. Sorry for my english, i hope you understand what i try to say. :)

Can you recommend any amplifiers to complement the S760Ds? Or would I need to get a receiver?
@superclaus2323 жыл бұрын
I ended up spending money on a Marantz receiver and some speakers from Teufel. I would recommend this to anyone, even that it's more expensive (about 200-300 euros more). But you have so many more options, very little noise in the system, much better frequency bandwidth and much more power when you need it (I got a big active subwoofer!). For a computer system, you can easily manage with a small receiver. With some searching, you can find both a good receiver and speaker system 2. hand and even save money. I'll never revert to the logitec or Edifer for my home office.

@@superclaus232 Thanks for the suggestions. I took a look at Teufel speakers--they look pretty nice. Hoping they don't have that hiss/hum the S760Ds do. Sadly, I purchased the S760D about a year ago, and before you made this video, so and they're still relatively new, and I can't return them or toss them at this point. I am looking for an amp that can may improve how they sound. From the Marantz lineup, the NR1510 looks like it'd fit--I'd just have to figure out how to hook the S760Ds with the receiver and my Sound Blaster Z card.

Hmm I had the z680 which you are talking about (you don't even know the name of your speakers) and no.. They were as loud as my 760D. Sidenote.. Go into speaker options and increase their level.. They get loud! Sound is much better than z680 and z906 which I had.. Sigh.. People like you should not post reviews you are misguiding potential users with your bias.. Even if you didn't like them.. Logitech is better? Really? Lol.. I had all three iterations z680,z5500,z906 and none was better than edifier..
@superclaus2324 жыл бұрын
Not sure you have even seen and heard the video? At no point do I state that Logitec is better, but my old Logitec system sure has more power than this "top" system from Edifier. Go ahead a make your own video on how great the Edifier system is, it could be fun to see.
