Wonderful! A few things for anyone with an appetite for reading: - It is worth noting that all of the shops you visiting are within easy walking distance of Princes Street and the Old Town, with Topping & Co. being, at a stretch, just 10 minutes from the clock-towered Balmoral Hotel on Princes Street, and McNaugthon's/Typemonger Books being only a few minutes further along and across the street. - And yes, Stockbridge is fabulous. Across from Golden Hare Books on St. Stephen Street is Ginger & Pickles, an independent bookshop for children. - Great that you mention Rare Bird Books. When it opened I feared it wouldn't last. I, a male, am so happy that it appears to be thriving. It's a fab shop with wonderful people. Hopefully your kind words will create additional interest in it. - Shelter Books is my go-to in Stockbridge, though my interest is marketing and related matters. I have discovered (in the truest sense) so much intelligent material there, with prices ranging from £4 to £5 for books originally costing 10 times that. Some amazing antiques also show up here. - Yes, Waterstones is wonderful (as is the one in Piccadilly), but there is also a great Blackwell's, 20 minutes away on the Old Town side. Blackwell's is also just one block up Chambers Street, which is located across from the main entrance to Greyfriars Kirkyard. And just a block up from Blackwell's is where JK Rowling did most of her Harry Potter writing. Today, on the corner of South Bridge and Drummond Street is a Black Medicine Coffee Shop, which has a sign advising that, no, Harry Potter was not written at that location. What the sign does not mention is that the writing was done upstairs in what is now (2024) a Chinese restaurant. - Just 10 minutes further along and a block over is Tills Bookshop, another famous Edinburgh institution. - There is also the newly relocated Edinburgh Bookshop in Bruntsfield, a village very much like Stockbridge, with fab eats, boutiques a great magazine shop and even a fabulous shop for vinyl records. Bruntsfield connects with Morningside, another affluent neighbourhood, so the charity shops in this area always have great content and intelligent books. - And you are quite right: the charity shops in Edinburgh are fantastic. And so was this video. Thank you.

I love these videos of your book travels in England and Scotland. As much as I would love to go to England, my heritage is Scottish and one day I wish to visit Scotland. Love all these adorable looking bookstores you shared. This must have been a wonderful trip. Thanks so much for sharing as always.
