Nice seeing and hearing the old Lothian and First buses in Edinburgh instead of what they have now! Especially the Leyland Tigers at 4:13 and 5:20!

Interesting, I was with LRT between 89-94, I came back in 2001, a question for the enthusiast's, the number 2 driving west along York Place, I'm guessing the driver has not changed his number at Hay Drive to a number 12, unless I'm wrong and the 2 at that time did cover that part of the 2/12 circle, can anybody clear that up?

Billy - I can answer your question. At that time (1998) the 2/12 was a circle route with the 2 following the inner circle and the 12 following the outer one. Following the changes in March 2000 it stopped being a circle and was split in two with the 2 following the southern part and the 12 the northern part, the services being interworked at Leith Links. Both the 2 and the 12 are now separate routes and no longer interwork.

Circular routes are really prone to bunching, so it makes sense that they were split

@@JohnDoe-gc1pm Yes, also unlike a linear route you can't turn a circle bus short to get the service back on schedule. The circles were all split over a period of three years.
