I can't thank you and the other people who maintain and add stuff to the the WL spreadsheet enough. This data is super interesting and not at all easy to collect or process to get some of the nice graphs shown in the video. I think the data makes a strong argument that Vayu should be in a tier alone at the top for season 2 and then you can consider decks like BW, Frog and LS variants for the tier below given Vayu boosted the average winrate of its players the most with the 2nd most games played in the league. LS players also outperformed their average winrates to the same degree but the deck was played less frequently so I think individual players were less prepared for it and maybe weren't siding some of the cards that can give the strategy difficulties.

It's always cool to see these statistical analyses! Do you think the War League results for Lightsworn/Kristyasworn will translate to tournament success as well, or are the formats too different (kind of like how you mentioned Zombies can do well in tournaments but not really in War League)?

It’s an interesting question. Hard to say for sure, but given that dragon turbo decks have had success in tournaments, I don’t see why Lightsworn variants can’t also have success. Although tournaments seem to have wider deck representation, so the advantage conferred by choosing lightsworn is probably reduced to an extent. They do better against the birds.

Gladiator beasts benefit greatly from The decline of hero beat(summom stratos set 5 traps) Gladiator beasts also have a good match up vs frogs(retiari banish treeborn) and against lightsworns/dragon turbo since they dont play trap cards to defend themselves

I think there's a chance that grouping all variants in as frog monarch does a disservice to frog hero as the superior version. There are loads of frog variants that will mostly bring it down and perform themselves as some of the worst decks featured. The stats are all great, just figured I'd point out something that may be misleading.

That could be true. Decks like roghnach’s plant frogs were really popular in war league and grouping them together gave us more info on matchups like frog vs Vayu or frog vs zombie so I kept them together. Ideally we could separate all the decks to be specific but it obviously comes at the risk of lowering an already low sample size.

I think Vayu And Blackwing have an advantage in that their lists are rather streamlined while the performances of top Frog and Machina lists will be diluted by sub-optimal takes that are more in line with the tiers you've placed them in. Personally, I feel as though Ryko Machina and Hero Frogs are far better than the performances here indicate and I'd wonder if differently sorted statistics would be more in line with my expectations. Of course, preparation plays no small part as well. The presentation can of course remain the same for practicality's sake, but taking this into consideration is probably important when evaluating the statistics, at the very least, I think.

Are Kristyasworn and Lightsworn lumped into the same Lightsworn catagory?

Yes. It’s worth noting that the top players on the individual rankings leaderboard who played lightsworn favored the Kristya version. For the war league stats it was important to have large sample sizes for the matchups in order to be able to make reasonably supported conclusions.

Yes! The league is conducted in Beastmode’s discord server. Season 2 just ended. Season 3 will probably start in 2025

Amazing video! Sadly, the results are a little upsetting. Edison initially became popular due to its diversity, but now that it's settled a bit, the top decks are Blackwing, hero, and dragon...the most overdone decks in Yugioh history

Thanks! for what it's worth, I do think that any of the decks I included on the tier list at the end could win a 100+ player tournament (and most of them have). And these stats also rely on the decks as they're built and played in 2024. It's still very possible that some new builds are able to give a lower tiered deck an advatange on Blackwings or Heroes.
