Nice list, I agree for the most part I personally give Vortex more credit, it's good vs floodgate monsters and also decks like lightsworn \ plants \ dragons \ frogs that set up big fields The problem is the discard, so not all decks can support it well, but I'd personally put it at the bottom of A tier. I play a copy of this and a copy of Smashing in some of my decks. Smashing trades well vs glads \ bw \ plants \ abzero \ fiend and it's a low commitment card where you can just draw it and use even if the situation is not the best for it, unlike Vortes where it can feel awful sometimes. Mind Crush can also be used vs lightsworn though again it's not as popular. Worth mentioning that in UTW and real life tournaments, the modern policy is used so you don't get to verify hand which is another downside for this card.

Yeah I can see smashing ground being good in decks that don't want to commit to discarding. Very good point about playing Mind Crush for IRL events

I would have to agree as well - Vortex is severely underrated as a side deck

Only hurts 1 deck, not worth siding against specifically 1 deck unless if that deck is the best deck like blackwings

It sounds strange to say, but spells are just not all that powerful in Edison format. Outside of like Future Fusion nothing is really worth hitting, and MST and Dust do a better job.

I'd say Thunder King is A High B tier or low A tier card. Its much better in other formats like Tengu format

I hate mindcrush, but I also fell like it is one of the few cards that can interact with Dragon turbo's solitaire's game. All the anti special summons don't mean anything once Dragon turbo drew it's all deck, activates trunade and follows with vortex. I guess Rai oh can be a nice solution to Dragon turbo while beeing usable against other decks.

Mind crush is terrible, its only sided against 1 deck, and the only way they search/u guarantee know what they have is white stone searching blue eyes off of cards of consonance or future fusion and thats a free search cuz they are drawing 2 cards to go even from cards of cons+ white stone or going plus 3 with future fusion dumping 3 white stones to search 3 blue eyes.

And to add salt to the wound mind crush discards the opponent’s card u call, so if u call redmd or blue eyes thats a dragon counted for super rejuv. So they will recuperate that loss if they drew super rejuv, or u helped them fuel the grave for pot of avarice
