I know that all compressor except scroll compressor you can use this method. without damaging the compressor. Nice video thank you. The recovery machine should have a filter dryer.

+Ron White I've been waiting for almost a year for someone to catch the missing filter drier. Good eye. Thanks again for watching and for the comment.

@5:30 wouldn't a low loss fitting or a ball valve help reduce the de minimis release?

What if your recovery machine doesn't have a purge? Only a "bypass" or are they the same thing? Would it be de minimis to let out refrigerant left in the recovery machine if there's not a purge?

Why weighing the tank is important?
@rmwaseem6 жыл бұрын
So you don't blow the tanks saftey valve by over filling and dumping all the freon out to ozone ! Remember 80% rule as in video above.!

Because you only can put 80% off freno no more is danger if you put more

first you pulled the liquid refrigerant to the tank to the blue side, it should be the red one, ,yep?
@edisonhvac7 жыл бұрын
Can't go by the colors on the valve or even the side the valve is on. That tank had a blue knob for vapor and it is on the left side. I have a newer tank that the vapor is on the right and in red. Tanks are tricky. Watch the video at 33:45 for specifics. kzbin.info?o=U&video_id=V_wUZ4qmAnk Thanks for the comment and for watching.

I prefer recovering to blue (vapor) side of tank for liquid and vapor. Liquid valve is useful for recharging system with blends. Problem with recovering to liquid side is when you're down to remaining vapor in system is that it has to bubble through the liquid. As far as colored knobs I really think it ought to be illegal for manufactures to do that as it can really wreak havoc and seems so unnatural to not follow color norms for standard high-side/low-side indicators of most tools and equipment.

Isnt system dependent for appliances under 5 pounds of refrigerant? Correct me If I am wrong but I read that system dependent really was designed for appliances pre 1993.
@edisonhvac7 жыл бұрын
If the unit has a service valve on the liquid line and you front seat it and pump down the unit then technically that is recovering by storing it in the condenser or receiver if it has one and is considered system dependent. Most of the units that use recips and pump the refrigerant out without the use of the recovery machine are also system dependent. Works well with recips but not scroll. The rule is under 15 lbs of refrigerant can use the system dependent process. Not sure about only pre 1993 though. Thanks for the comment!

Edisonhvac, just for clarification, are you saying that under 15lbs referigerant all types compressors including scroll can pump down or that any pump down should be limited to under 15lbs except for scroll?
