Edit Line or Polygon Feature in QGIS

How can I split the line into equal segments without drawing a line manually? For example, I want to split a road into equal parts of 100 metres.

To delete a node, left-click node with mousse then press "delete" key on your keyboard and ..... whole your feature has gone!
