The best advice I've heard about editing (if you don't have an editor) is to put your story down once you feel like it's complete, forget about it for 3 months, and then re-read it! That way you'll have forgotten a lot of small details and you'll be able to see any mistakes way easier. Can't wait to read your story!

It's so great to see how you are diving into this new chapter of your creativity! I find the editing process super daunting. I guess that's the reason why I have four novels as first drafts and writing my fifth right now (LOL). But sooner or later I will have to edit and I hope it's as fun and interesting as writing the first draft :) How did you find your editor? Could you make a video about that? I think it would be interesting for all of the writers out their who are wanting to take the self-publishing route like you :) Did you check out the "Publish and Thrive" Course by Sarra Cannon? Hi Ana! i have a question,So, basically im wiritng a book and what do you reccomend the best page size like an a5 or what? im currently using a5 but books dont normally come in that size right? in google docs after a5 only b4 or b5 and stuff like that is available so i cant make it any smaller than that or what? i cant use a6 or a7 i hope u answer this thank you! u inspired me to write my own book so my question is whats the ideal page size for a book and how do u create your own book cover becuz i need help for that im not a very artisitc person which websites do u use for like creating a book cover

I really like your writing videos a lot :) I'm participating in NaNoWriMo this year though I'm taking it veeeery chill with my project (about dark mages). I've finished quite a lot of stories so far, short and long (8k, 80k, you name it) so I'm sure I'll get this one done as well. Haven't published anything yet besides academic work as a philologist and criminologist, but that may come with time. Hi, as far as I've heard about kdp publishing, by creating an Amazon isbn at the back of the book to sell, you give the printing and text rights to Amazon, don't you? Then how will you self publish? On Amazon as well or through a different site, and try to reclaim the rights?

I didn't even know "underwriting" was a thing. Some of the things you said about thickening the plot, I've struggled with as well. Sometimes I feel like there's so much things happening in my story but there's nothing HAPPENING. I wonder if every single thing I write has to contribute to the plot and if there's a point to it if it doesn't. Or...is the plot even enough to stand on its own? Are these "cute moments" useless? New fear unlocked. 🔓

aw bestie i totally get you. i think 'thickening' the plot is exactlyyy scenes like those 'cute moments'. a plot is a simple point to point structure. but adding to it, and devleoping new themes is creating new and more extensive comments on the message of the book, your characters and the story's journey. don't worry bestie - u got this!👩🏻‍💻💕
