Awesome, thanks for the follow up Josh! Watched the video. Great info. I have a 2017 IPad Pro. It’s only 64gb. Being that it’s a bit older, I was curious about the processing power and if what my iPad has, is enough. However, if you’re editing straight from an SSD, does the processing power even matter? In theory, I would think since it’s coming directly from the SSD, the IPad (cpu) isn’t getting bogged down with the 4K footage. Would that be accurate to say, or is that wrong? This stuff can be confusing 😐. Here’s the specs of my IPad: A10X Fusion chip with 64‑bit architecture Embedded M10 coprocessor.
@JoshuaTimothy2 жыл бұрын
@@clifhellner1493Related to processing power, you should be more than good. I tested a few clips on my friends 2017 iPad Pro. Sadly, the 2017 iPad Pro has a lightning port instead of USB-C. I’m pretty sure LumaFusion doesn’t allow editing off of external drives over the lightning port, because it is too slow. You can transfer files off of a drive onto the ipad using an adapter, its really slow though, airdrop is faster; but, that will be using the 64 gb of storage on the ipad.

@JoshuaTimothy Жыл бұрын
I assume you mean the 10th Gen iPad, the current version with USB C. Yes, any iPad released over the past couple of years will handle editing video really well. The only thing the 10th gen iPad can't do is edit off of external SSDs because it only supports USB 2.0, which is too slow for video editing. The iPad Air and iPad Pro with USB C edit perfectly off of external storage.

why trim the clips using left and right slider instead of cutting?
@JoshuaTimothy Жыл бұрын
I do both, I guess it depends on a couple of scenarios. If the clip is really long it’s easier to just cut it and delete the remaining portion if I don’t need it. If I need to use two separate parts of a clip I’ll cut it and then use the slider to fine tune the clip length. For me if it is just a short clip, I’ll usually just use the sliders
