In this video, I'll walk you through the process of batch editing using photoshop camera raw. I will also share some anecdotes about my creative process and lighting set up. This video is meant to be a chill and informal way of introducing the concept of batch editing to new photographers.
The set I am editing was taken during New York Fashion Week, right after the GFC show. We put this shoot together using models and designs straight off the runway, and had only around 25 minutes to shoot the entire editorial before the designs needed to be returned.

I am soooo happy that I found your channel, even though I’m not a professional photographer and most likely will never ever have to do batch editing, your videos are so fun to watch, love your energy!

Aw thank you so much! That means a lot, and I love it when people like my videos despite the dry subject matter haha

A nice clean and fast batch edit process. I do things differently, mostly through Lightroom CC Classic, and tend to work on each image seperatly, except for applying lens correction. Also, love the backdrop, the Intrepid Museum is a favourite spot of mine in NYC. Also a little nerdy note, the Intrepid is an aircraft carrier, not a battleship. Excellent results and images!

Hahaha, I know...but battleship sounds so much cooler! I know a lot of photogs like Lightroom, I should probably make the switch at some point but camera raw works so well for me, I haven't felt the pressure! Next time I'd love to visit the museum inside, I'll have to go when I have more time!

Batch editing: The thing that helps me avoid that part in The Shining where Jack completely loses it. Hope you're back to 100 percent ASAP!

Hahaha I remember the first time I shot an event, I edited all of the photos individually. I had no idea how anyone could ever make that amount of work profitable 😂

It's brutal. 😅 I know people feel some obligation for weddings and such, but no ... they won't know the difference. YOu'll edit a photo for 30 minutes or an hour and they'll want the one out of focus shot you included by accident.

I do pretty much the same workflow except I use Lightroom because it is faster for me to copy my edits from other shoots, work on multiple shoots and batches at a time, and peruse all my shoots for the year (I make a new Catalog) each year.

I should probably change to lightroom at some point for this reason. Working on multiple batches at once does seem like a benefit of that program.

Any tips on how to shoot flash with a film camera? I find it very difficult to get what I want especially when HSS was involved. Currently I rely heavily on bringing a small digital camera to see if my metering is correct.

I wish I had better advice for you, but thats what I do too. I meter with my digital, take a test shot with the flash, and then apply the settings to my film camera and take a few shots with it. I'm sure there's better (more expensive) ways of doing it with a light meter etc, but I haven't gotten frustrated enough with my method to change it yet lol
