The poor little one can’t catch a break. They’re all such cuties. Red tailed hawk babies are the absolute cutest of the apex predator babies in my opinion.

Mom is NOT going to interfere with aggressive chick. Ag chick could kill the other and the parents will not interfere or stop it.

Neither one is going to be the fittest if they keep this up! Totally ignoring a feeding to fight each other! Karazee. D8d you notice the parent did not interfere ?

The most aggressive chick(s) get the most food. Always.

So the mother just keeps feeding only one!

i think eventually it would feed the other chick too if you watch the nest long enough but it is too long to watch though. in general RTH seems to have a good idea of proportional feeding of chicks comparatively. however, i do think eagles and crows are better at proportionally feeding their chicks.
@thomasmleahy62188 ай бұрын
@@robertingersoll3039 Eagles don't interfere in the pecking fights. In clutches of 3 to 5, it is quite common to see the last hatched starved to death, or even pecked to death, then eaten by the aggressive chick, with mother helping to feed the remaining chicks.

She is NOT being stubborn, she or he will feed the most aggressive chick. It's the chick who decides who gets fed and how much. The parents do not interfere in this out of balance relationship. With 2 parents providing prey. There should be such an abundance of food that even having to wait till one is full, there should be plenty to feed the other chick the same amount, or more.
