Love your work and the tips are fantastic. Here In SW VIC have the coastal effect so night clouds are a challenge but we’ll away from the Big Smoke light pollution. Your tips and tricks with the device and with Lightroom are just the duck’s nuts. Thanks!

Love your tutorial videos. This summer I’m going to give Astro a go. Last summer I was able to capture a few from our backyard as we live on the outer edge of the city. This year I will find a spot nearby that has less light pollution. Code word is Deavo Keep up the great content Shayne, it’s great to see how to capture stunning shots with just our phones 📲

Another banger, Shayne! (codeword: Deavo) I usually edit in a very similar way to you, but just from this video I learned how to use the Masking in Details tab!!! Thanks a lot! And just one clue from me (well surely not for you, but maybe someone reading this might find it useful): If the Select Sky mask includes some of the object and the object is easily detectable, try substracting the "Select Object" AI mask. The result should mostly have just the sky. 🙂

This video shows that it is possible to get amazing results with something you pay for every month and have accessible to everyone :) I enjoy using my iPhone 14 Pro and took amazing images that I could be taking on my Nikon D3500 but less weight :) Deavo and DSLR are getting old now tbh

unfortunately Lightroom is a tad bit out of my budget range. Your editing was very interesting and easy to follow. I watch from start to finish but as my budget dosen't allow I could actually follow through as much as I would have liked. I have to say your end result was fantastic although there was still a little of the red light showing.

Another fantastic video. Shayne has played a massive role in taking my astro photography to another level. 👏 Please follow for more knowledgeable and valuable information. @Shayne, have a question for ya Mate. After your edits, do you print your photos? If so, how do they appear? I prefer printing on metal, and 16x24 is a common size around my home. I haven't printed an astro photo, because I fear there is too much noise in the photo and the final product may not appear clean. What are your results? Thanks again for everything you've done in this space! Pun intended 😉
@CanaldoOTA Жыл бұрын
Shayne, i would love to hear your take on the noise reduction on the new released Dxo Pure Raw 3. It seems to make wonder. I imagine what could do for smartphone astrophotography.

Can you revisit the iphone 14 pro ( max ) but this time capture it on 1x, last video u had it at 0.9x which uses the ultrawide (arguably the worst lens on iphone for low light ) and no tap capture ?

I feel like Snapseed has more settings for editing though I think some use one app just for cropping, another for filters etc is light room optimal enough? I just feel like it’s better to use many apps but I’m not an expert on this.
@ShayneMostyn11 ай бұрын
Each has its own. There are things that Snapseed doesnt have that make LR the go to for astro shots

So deavo that you keep referring to the core as a "gaseous cloud". It's a star cloud. Those are millions and billions of stars. Oh and one extra thing I do in processing is to use the masking tool to try and brighten the corners of the image to try and counteract vignetting. I just push the exposure up a little and try to blend it in.
