I just got my L- enhance filter to use with my Rebel SL100D and my 75-300mm kit lens. Also, with that I am becoming more familiar with using my Star Adventure tracker mount. I'm VERY new to Adobe, and all this combined has created a HUGE gap in what my experience will allow vs. what I want my images to look like. This video has opened my eyes to different ways to process my data, and I'll try again to achieve a better outcome with my final image. 🤞Thanks for the content, I'll be tuning in to hopefully learn more from your videos in the future as I further embark on my journey in this new hobby I've come to love very much! ☺️

I love that you don't dawdle and go back and forth, etc, etc. ....I appreciate that you efficiently click thru, show and say exactly what you are doing....and if I need to slow down... I just hit pause, as I am doing my own picture at the same time. Congrats a good video, that will help a lot of people!

Thanks Helena, I'm a bit late to the party here but found it very useful! 😀All my images taken with the L-eNhance have looked very red so I'll definitely be looking at trying to bring out the blues/greens in the nebulosity using the techniques you demonstrated. You also mentioned a very important concept IMO in dithering - I learnt about it recently and have gone from having a total mess of walking noise in my images - impossible to remove with processing - to that averaged out kind of noise that you showed when you zoomed in to your image, which Photoshop or other tools can manage.

Great wee tutorial and a cracking image. I recently got an L-nhance clip in filter for my 700D and am struggling with being able to see anything on my live view screen to focus on. It wouldn't be new gear if something didn't go wrong.
@HelenasAstrophotography
@HelenasAstrophotography Жыл бұрын
Ah this is so true Willie. Any filter that you put in front of the sensor will reduce the amount of light hitting the sensor and therefore make live view darker. You could up your ISO considerably when in live view to increase sensitivity (remember to reduce it again before you begin imaging). Taking the filter out for focusing would change the focal point in the imaging train and would still mean focus would be slightly out. Best of luck!

Hey, Helena! Well done! The banding you referred to is caused by your Canon camera. Peter Zelinka attributes this as a lack of exposure time. I have a Canon 1100D (modded) and I suffer the same problem. I have seen that if I extend a bit my exposure time while doing my test shots, this banding is considerably reduced. I'll try your workflow with some data I have of the Elephant Trunk nebula and that turned out not so great with my process in Pixinsight. Let's see what happens! Cheers!

Hi Helena, a newbie question I guess: Why can't you just edit the blue channel and the red channels "in place"? Is there a difference, copying them each to a separate image and copying them back to the original image, vs just editing each one "in place" in the original image? Thanks a lot!
