On an occasion like the Constitution debate, all leaders are expected to be guided by the Constitution and rule of law. What we actually saw was that the debates were on completely partisan lines, and many leaders, including the seniors indulged in galigaloch. Indian Constitutiin is the largest written Constitution and is a fine document. The responsibility of implementation of the constitution lies on the shoulders of all political parties, especially the ruling party politicians. Now the parliament has been reduced to a place for abusing each other. This is not envisaged by the framers of the Constitution. Why don't our honourable leaders and senior ministers even do not ensure their presence in the parliament while discussion on such an important topic is held? For degrading the parliament, all politicians are responsible. What we see is partisan debates and criticism of past leaders, who sacrificed everything for the country. We should not forget those leaders. Today, it has become a habit to criticise and abuse past leaders to score points in debates. This is not what the people expect. The people want the country to progress and all people are treated with dignity and their constitutional rights are protected. Let us concentrate on the present pressing issues facing the nation. People are deeply hurt and disappointed at the tone and tenure of debates in the parliament. Each member of parliament should be heard and allowed to say what he wants to say. Parliamentary majority doesn't mean the ruling party can bulldoze the debates and obstruct any debates. If meaningful and serious debates are not held, what is the use of parliament? India is a Parliamentary democracy and it should remain so. Leaders may come and go. But, our institutions must survive.

When Indian Constitution was framed, then north cachat hills now Dima Hasao district, Assam, was under the 6th schedule where our rights/control over lands and customs was guaranteed ( It is a Constitution within the Indian Constitution - for which Ladakh under the leadership of Sonam Wanchuk are demanding) but unfortunately the Govt. The urge to hold autocratic power mostly stems out of incompetency where the ruler would like to have absolute control over everything. They need power to suppress dissents, gag voice of the mass and hide failure. Most such ruler thinks that he, only he thinks for the nation and rest others are traitors. @123xyzabccba Well our Constitutional makers copying from the Westminster model failed to give more autonomy to States to begin with. They made States subservient to Centre stemming from insecurity. The Union Govt., was vested with unaccountable powers disproportionately. They failed to anticipate what majoritarian Govts can do with autocratic tendencies. Over the course of time, even minimal rights given to States were watered down like what Indira Gandhi did when she arbitrarily amended the constitution to bring education from State list to concurrent list. Now Modi Govt., is going a step further in suppressing the rights of States drunk with absolute power and endeavouring to promote India as a unitary oligarchical model with cronyism as its ideal and objective. India, ie. Union of States was only inserted in the preamble as optics, but not in the soul and spirit of constitution as an actionable.

After listening Mr Narendra Modi speech..it seems that he is trying to justify his trampling of our constitution by invoking the emergency of 1975. Mistake happened but we are to learn from it not to repeat
