Skinny is on a developmental path. His lateral movement and his tracking of rebounds is still a work in progress but I think he’ll eventually put it all together.

The fault in the B&H situation rests entirely on the Oiler organization, the only part they got right was selecting them everything else they messed up! My bad thing last night is this antiquated league...just the fact that they do not immediately call down and award Brown a goal after clearly messing up on calling the play dead shows how much this league loves to hide in the grey areas! It did feel good beating the Blues though.

So glad to see Stuart playing like the skinner we all know he’s capable of being. St Louis was the better team for large stretches of the game and the shots do actually indicate the chances tonight and if not for skinner this game could’ve been a loss. But it was a good win and on to Tampa bay……. That’s gonna be a tough one.

We could have signed Broberg and Holloway for a lot less than they signed for in St.Louis. We were offering them a slight bump above league min. Just awful asset management bynour higher ups. The fact that they didn't anticipate offer sheets is alarming. At the very least, if the money wasn't ever going to be there then trade them rather than lose them for a pittence

That was done by holland and I believe he dud it on purpose because he knew he was leaving and what better thing to do then to stiff the oiler organization and give a free ride to his best friend Doug Armstrong!…I believe it should be investigated…they were both first round picks and all we got was a second and a third for them!…should have been two firsts!
@joetoh66755 күн бұрын
It is a business, so I can accept the whole B&H offer sheet situation, EXCEPT for one thing: the compensation rules. A team should get compensated with a pick in the round the player was originally selected from. That of course would also influence GM calculations of whether or not to tender the sheets. B&H had a logjam in front of them, the Oilers were going for veterans, the franchise had and have big signings on the horizon, they weren’t in a position to pay a premium on youth (arguably), while the Blues were. Sure, coaching and management staff coulda gotten ahead of it and secured them for the future, AS the future, but if I were their agents, I’d have been happy with the way it all went. But again, the compensation rules suck. A 1st round pick still carries some risk that he won't turn out, so I don't think it's too much compensation to give to a team losing a 1st rounder that has turned into an NHLer.

You guys are forgetting something very important. The salary cap is going up SUBSTANTIALLY in the coming years... could be 10+ mil total in 5 years. Bowman should've done more to at least keep one of the 2 that left to the blues. To say Bowman has been underwhelming is an understatement.

It was/is a serious mistake to plug roster spots with rotating free agents every year. Holloway would've provided more roster stability. Plus his development curve fit better with the McDrai era than that of young Savoie and O'Reilly. Broberg...good for puck moving, offense and speedy defense, but will probably never be a feared physical presence.

We're witnessing the flat cap period's impact on the McDrai era. They should have planned the decade of darkness to coincide with the flat cap period.

Ya, Woody F'ed up Broberg, Holloway, and Koskinen. Just refused to give them ice time, but ran with Manson's giant super gap collapsing D that almost cost the season. He sure helped set this team back. How in the hell do people like that just keep getting jobs at a billion per year to make mistakes so bad that I am Sam knows better?. Wow, thx God that nightmare is over.

I agree with David about Skinner being good at blocking the puck. My opinion, when down he is slow to his feet and his lateral movement isn't great. Totally agree with his goaltending is totally in alignment with the team defensive play. He's not the goalie to bail out his team on a bad defensive game. Not to hate on him, he's been playing good, can't fault Skinner when the team doesn't score and he gives up one.

If Drai's pass were sharper that game would've ended at 0-0 with no penalties after 60 minutes.

They could have kept Holloway! Why did we sign Skinner and Arvidsson? I admit I was happy at the time, though in hindsight, it seems they are redundant on this team. Instead, we could have paid Holloway and gotten a cheaper option at D instead of Broberg. Oh well, moving on.

Holloway's looking better than Arvidsson at the moment! As he surely will going into the future. You can feel Bowman's stock go down in Oil Country with every Holloway point. He's fast, physical, and has the work ethic to improve whatever part of his game, such as defending. Importantly, a team needs youthful enthusiasm. We drafted him and saw him through his surgeries. Would've been nice to have 55 as a teammate with 97 & 29 for a decade. Sure, management had to consider space for upcoming signings, and make a call on how replaceable the offer sheeted players were. Holly was home-grown though, and now what, the team will be shopping for free agents to fill the spot every year? We're also witnessing the flat cap period's impact on the McDrai era. They should have planned to decade of darkness to coincide with the flat cap period.

Connor brown, janmark its ok but perry ,skinner , henrique should not have been sign .Give little more to broberg and holloway after they sign continue to go shopping.
