Not only did Abbe Faria gift Edmond with knowledge and companionship during their time as friends, but he also gave him the means to escape with his death, and the means to get revenge on his enemies.

This prison break actually doesn't work in real life. If a human body falls onto water from a height of 50 meters, it is equivalent to falling onto concrete. Dante would instantly die from impact without a chance to swim away.

The funny part is this shows how digging the tunnel was completely unnecessary. When they didn't put the plates at the door, both times the guy opened the door seconds later. Edmont and the priest were both trained so they could've easily taken him out once the door was opened and he came in to investigate. There are no other guards there, so after they took the other guys out they would've been free.

He’s been working out for years (fencing and digging). He can last several for several minutes so the length of time is not unbelievable. What I find unbelievable is him holding his breath and staying focused after that kind of fall into freezing water.

@@Rushinator1 It's a movie. In the book they just sewed him in a burlap bag and since he took a knife with him he simply cut the cheap threads they used to sew the bag, Keep in mind it was not sewed tightly as they figured once it hit the water the fish would get to his body so the weights was not tied to him but just put in the bag.
