25 years later, CC is still the best sports announcer in Canada. I miss him on CFL games with "Suits"

They can thank the entire National Football League for passing up on Warren Moon on the 1978 NFL Draft. Imagine if an NFL Team were to draft Moon, would Edmonton still have enjoyed their success?

Yep, Edmonton ruled the CFL for five years. They were five long years for everyone else. Personally I don't think the CFL ever recovered. Everyone knew who was going to win the Grey Cup and it wasn't their team. Fans lost interest and attendance went down and still hasn't fully recovered. There are only nine teams in the CFL and if one team wins all the time people loose interest because the results are so predictable. The nine teams went to eight for a while. I wasn't sure Ottawa would ever return.

I wish these elite cfl teams would've played games against nfl teams, my odds would be this team beating an nfl team, they were stacked

Great video. Do you know when in 2001 this was originally broadcast on CBC? They mention Moon being a Hall of Famer, so it was likely after his induction that year. Thanks!

It was part of their pre Grey Cup coverage that year.

Easily. Their lines on both sides of the ball were bigger than the Super Bowl counterparts in all 5 years except 78. (Dallas) Plus, they had Warren Moon who was better than a washed up Staubach and FAR more accurate than Bradshaw or Plunkett.
