imo, without a doubt he's absolutely right !! with bernie cooper's testimony as to what he observed in my mind it's quite evident what happened .

Might as have been as has I believe veterans on Gichi- Gumi suggest that the Fitz came down from 35 foot wave, the bow went down deep into the trough, and the Fitz kept propelling downwards....the bow hit the bottom, the middle collapsed, the stern remained momentarily afloat and then capsized to the bottom. Would appreciate more expert views on this possibility. 29 good guys. RIP👍

I never understood why no one talks about the 3 rogue waves that we're headed towards the Fitzgerald. Skipper Cooper mentioned it briefly in one of his interviews. 🤔

Why certainly, Jim. We'd be glad to provide the expert view. You see the bow went down deep into the trough, and the Fitz kept propelling downwards....the bow hit the bottom, the middle collapsed, the stern remained momentarily afloat and then capsized to the bottom.

Bow hit botton, The Stern accordioned the middle section then the bow broke off floated for a short time then sank. Any advance on that??
@zachhoward90992 жыл бұрын
@@BatBoy7426 the ‘short time’ part is open to interpretation that could’ve been a handful of seconds to maybe a couple of minutes at the very most

I couldn't imagine a single 18-25 year old these days with enough balls to be on one of those ships. At least not in Michigan anyway.

Great explanation of "one" possible cause for the sinking. I appreciate the level of detail provided.

Good narrative from the sailor. He did a great job and seemed to know his stuff. I agree with his theory on the sinking of the fitz

Didnt they re-chart the path the EF took around 6 fathoms shoal and found it to be deeper than originally charted thus debunking the shoaling theory?
@scottgriggs25964 жыл бұрын
How much deeper than 6 fathoms would it have to be to avoid bottoming a ship with a 28 foot draft in those seas? The reported fence rail damage and missing vent cap are pretty compelling pieces of evidence.

Yes.

Yep...they would sure sensationalize it but at least it would be about the Mighty Fitz and IMHO would be much better than the shit they coming out with these days.

never heard of any 1 ever being found but 29 men you would think you woud find some well sounds like they found 1 but who was it ?
@wendygoerl91626 жыл бұрын
500 ft down, you can't spend a lot of time looking. Passages are too tight for ROV's and scuba divers have a "bottom time" of less than 10 min.
They’re pretty sure it may have been Ransom Cundy one of the wheels man by the height estimation of the man’s body but it’s never been publicly stated out of respect of privacy for the families of the men, had it been McSorely I think they would’ve probably announced it as I don’t believe he had children or any immediate family other than his wife who died I think in the late 80s
@zachhoward90992 жыл бұрын
@@wendygoerl9162 I wonder now with drone technology how accessible some of those passages would be, though allegedly there are marker buoys in the area with transmitters where if a boat lingers stationary for too long the Canadian Coast Guard will send people out to see whose out there.

Lies, if the ship hit rocks by the island it would have sank closer to it Especially with the weight of the cargo. Truth is it broke apart at the surface and sank!!!

I'm not sure it's 'lies' but I agree -with it breaking apart on the surface. This was probably like the Daniel J. Morrell sinking but more sudden due to the full load.
