Remember Sam wanted access to some of the older books to look for answers on how to beat the white walkers. Making him copy those books seems like a punishment, but in reality, he now has access to some books he normally would not get to read. Of course, some of them are pointless, but this gives him a chance to find some answers.

@04:17: the beach scenes at Dragonstone are filmed on the Itzurun beach in Zumaia (Spain), on the Basque Coast, from season 7. I read Theon’s hop overboard as someone who now knows quite a lot about dealing with no-win situations from sadists-unlike the (dead) Starks, he’ll sacrifice his honor to live and fight another day, which he also now knows is another chance to do the right thing. But if a sadist presents you with a no-win, take the option to sacrifices your honor rather than kills both you and your sister.

I think yall missed the strategic move Cersei did. They let grey worm take Casterly rock on purpose and sent Euron to destroy their ships. But while they were focused on taking Casterly rock, that left High Garden wide open, and that’s how Jamie slipped in and took over so easily. High garden is worth way more than Casterly rock because it’s where they grow all the food.

In the show, they give Bran more power than he has in the books. And by doing so, they downplay the importance of the Weirwood trees. In the books, his power isn't unlimited ability to see everything. He can see anything that has ever happened in the presence of a weirwood. This is why the trees are sacred and planted in important places. Oaths are taken and marriages performed in front of them, so there is always a permanent record of these things in the mind of the three eyed raven, even if people have long since forgotten that's the reason for it.

Cause if it were Robert, Robb, Joffrey, or Stannis as monarch and he went to them saying he is independent, help him, I have no proof, but stop what you're doing anyway and help me. And oh yes, I will still be Independent? They would have all killed him just for the stupidity and audacity. Lets be real now.
@lobsters1211116 күн бұрын
He's not trying to tell her she has to help. He's there to warn her of the true threat, ask her to help, and then go home to deal with it. He wouldn't bend the knee for anyone, man or woman. He took that lesson from Mance and the wildlings. It's got nothing to do with gender, it's got to do with who's in control of the big armies. He never expected her to blindly help. She's expecting him to blindly follow. No, most people would not have killed him. There's an entire montage of them trying to recruit and often times the people said no. They never attempted to kill him.

Cersei went after the Tyrell's because the Tyrells used Tomen's love for Margery, to turn him against his own family. And eventually she would end up on the chopping block. But Cersei always peeped the game and took them all out. She knew that Margery was a seductress and a snake. She knew, because she knew what Jeoffrey really was. But Margery put on this act, like she really loved him. Yall need to stop underestimating Cersei. She is exactly like her father. If she were a man people would respect her viciousness. But she's a female. So she was forced to marry an abusive drunk and have babies. Even though she knew they would all die. She didn't have a choice. Olena said it along time ago "Nobody suspects a rose". The weapon the Tyrells use is sex and marriage.
@ariannemartel968614 күн бұрын
Cersei was not forced to marry Robert, no more than Margaery was forced to marry Renly, or Joffrey. Young Cersei was more ruthlessly ambitious than Margaery ever was. We see her asking the witch about marrying the prince in her flashback. She WANTED to marry Rhaegar, and then when he died she WANTED to marry Robert to be queen. As she said to Ned in her rare moments of honesty that “marrying Robert was the happiest day of her life”, not because she cared about him but because he was King and he was handsome and she’d be queen. The big difference between Margaery and Cersei is that Margaery has the humility to know she has to try to appeal and win over every husband she has, she puts in the work and gets results and there is nothing “snakelike” about that. Cersei was arrogant enough to think that Robert would just fall for her because she rich and pretty and when she found that he had already had feelings for someone she threw a tamper tantrum and acted like a real snake.
@nebulanigrimleonis388314 күн бұрын
@ariannemartel9686 she absolutely was forced to marry Robert. Do you really think she could tell Tywin No? So what, she was happy.... her happiness mattered to NO ONE. Nothing you've written means anything lol. Of course she was arrogant. They are all arrogant. And??? Does anything take away from the fact that Robert used and abused her??? No. Robert married her because her family was rich. He was not perfect. He knew the Stark girl didn't want him and she was not kidnapped and he started a war to soothe his narcissistic bruise. Hus reason for war had nothing to do with everyone else's. This is not a disney fairytale. They are all flawed and willing to kill and die for more power.
@nebulanigrimleonis388314 күн бұрын
@@ariannemartel9686 and who cares about Margerys appeal to men LOL. All that pick me energy, was reduced to ashes in the wind. Cersei told her several times "I see you. Don't try me." Olena told Margerybtobwatch her mouth. And in the end, all that smirking and thinking she was the better woman. Got her, her father, the high sparrow and Tommen killed. It's not about who's a better person. Its about who is a better player. And, so what Cersie WANTED to marry Rhaeghar. Nobody cared about what she wanted. Andvthats exactly why she started killing everyone. Thank you for pointing out how her WANTS meant nothing.
@ariannemartel968614 күн бұрын
@@nebulanigrimleonis3883 she could have been forced by Tywin if she refused but she jumped at the chance to marry Robert ergo she wasn’t forced in any way. Robert was a terrible King, husband, brother, and “step father”. While I don’t expect Cersei to be a good wife to him, her choosing to be a terrible queen, and mother is on her. It’s not a Disney story, most people in GoT grew up without loving parents. Her happiness mattered a great deal to Jamie and could have also mattered to Tyrion if it wasn’t for her own actions. Everyone there is arrogant and entitled and ruthless and grey to a degree, but it’s all on a scale. Margaery was just a much lighter grey than Cersei and was a better Queen and wife in every way. And Margaery had no intention of having Cerseis head on a chopping block, all of that was Cerseis own stupid doing.
@nebulanigrimleonis388314 күн бұрын
@ariannemartel9686 so what, she wanted to marry Robert??? He called her LYANA on the very first night and mistreated her everyday since. In the books it’s mentioned multiple times by various characters the belief, that the Starks adhere to, that “no man can tell a lie standing beneath a “heart” tree”. Which would be the one they’re talking near to. It’s essentially having this conversation in a church pew. A place for honest speech.
