because Ednas version did not go worldwide so one of the producers suggested the song to natalie and rca records made a worldwide selling product of it....in the end they earned good money from it and the songwriter status and the song got introduced to people worldwide...

I personally still really like Natalie's version. There are far worse versions. But this Ednaswap version (their second arrangement of their own song) is my personal favorite.
