So beautiful and so graceful. It seems to me, Japan's culture is full of elegance, beauty, and respect for every nuance of its society. They don't just simply record their history and culture in books. They bring it to life and pay visually stunning and orally breathtaking homage to it. I think it's their respect for their traditions and history that gives Japan its ethereal beauty, undying strength, and worldwide admiration. I wonder if they even realize how many people across the globe love their country? I certainly do.

@@NekoWitchi Actually, there are tayuu in Kyoto. Not sure about the official count, but I believe it is around 6? Anyway, you're confusing tayuu with oiran - in which case you would be correct in saying that there are no more oiran. Tayuu also had a sexual side to their profession, but as mistresses rather than just very expensive "women to play with", like oiran. Of course this is no longer practiced.
@NekoWitchi
@NekoWitchi 5 жыл бұрын
@@toza4693 Tayuu is the highest class of courtesan in Kyoto and an Oiran is the highest class of courtesan in Edo which is old tokyo... so basicaly it's the same, nowadays Tayuus are only dancers keeping some of the traditions alive but it doesn't make them Tayuus as they used to be back in the days.

Well...i don t think so. Very very few men had the chance to have a night with an Oiran, cause they were incredibly expensive & had all the rights in the house. They were also true models for fashion & of (erotic or not) pictures. Sometimes a parade was necessary to show the new oiran of a house but often it was a simple way to advise, to show how their house is thriving, how their girls are gorgeous & of course to make men want to visit them...To show an Oiran it s to make dream men, i think ;)

I want a tv show about an Oiran in her world with super aesthetic stuff like that. Kind of like Harlots, but about an Oiran.

Casual people could not even speak to Oiran lady. They were not only the highest comfort woman but also artist. They could make poem and calligraphy to welcome celebrities.

For those who may be confused Oirans are not prostitutes or courtesans. They are high ranking Geisha. There is a major difference between the two. Geisha are living and breathing works of art, the embodiment of Japanese culture.
