You see Godwin Obaseki, the outgoing governor of Edo State, he acted wrongly here. Though he he thinks he can do it all alone. The people that would have helped him to fight this fight against the federal might used against him, he betrayed them. People like the Deputy governor Shuaibu, the former Edo State PDP chairman, Dan Orbih and a host of other eminent Edo indigenes like the Oba of Benin amongst others. During his tenure as d governor of Edo State, he used the state government's power to coerce eminent Edo indigenes to do his bidding. Though I would have wanted his preferred candidate to win, whom is more vast in Economic affairs, but it seems like the federal might prevailed against him. You see those men that you saw outside the INEC office shouting Godwin 'ole', they used to be his boys during his first tenure as the governor. Their names are Kabaka (putting on red jacket), No more less (the fair guy that climbed the pavement on the road, he himself was arrested by Godwin during the first tenure), Shaba, etc. These were the boys that Oshiomole empowered during his tenure and handed to Obaseki but fell out with Obaseki. Oshiomole have thus recruited them back and the painful part is that they are going to be part of APC regime in the state. These boys are known to be used as revenue collectors and they are very brutal to residents doing business in Edo State. I am not happy that these boys (or men as u may call them) are about to resume their duties as revenue collectors in Edo State. Too bad that Oshiomole used the weakness of Obaseki to rig his candidate to power. Obaseki weakness is in his poor inter - intra personal relationship with people. Other than that, he tried his best during his 8 year rule. Though not the best Edo state governor but certainly not the worse. He just did his bit. Now the future looks bleak for him, cos I see those whom he fought against during his 8 year rule, coming for him with force. He stepped on some prominent people's toes. I just pity him

I don't expect PDP to win bcos Govn didn't keep to the agreement he had with his deputy Gov who helped him to win a 2nd term. The decamp of the deputy Gov will surely impact PDP result. However, the major problem of Nigeria are the electorates. They prefer bad governance. They keep allowing themselves to be induced at polling units as reported by observers afterwards they will be complaining of bad leadership

Mr. Governor Obaseki you had no reason visiting the Center because that is what you have your aids and members of your cabinet for even if it was a state issue. Your presence was pure intimidation which you are known for. You are just the governor of the State and your responsibilities do not fall within election matters. If you heard that other parties members were not allowed in the area, would you have gone to the place at the time you were there? Sometimes, politicians think they can beat the system. INEC is an independent organization that make their own decisions on how to get the job done. At the time the governor visited the center that could not have been considered official hours and hence the governor surprised himself for not seeing anyone there and besides he got walked out which was an embarrassment. Don't the governor have hours of sleep to be running the street at 4.00AM in the morning. When INEC finally resumed all political parties agent where in attendance. If there was nothing going on when the governor arrived at the center was that a sign that he must have been lied to with the claim he received that his party agent where not allowed in? The governor got the treatment he desired from the police.
