Very helpful, thank you. My textbook is talking about transfers from revaluation surplus to retained earnings, phew!. At which point I asked myself "Is there a T account then, I wonder, for Retained Earnings?" and this video has answered my question wonderfully clearly, as well as tutoring me clearly on how the mechanism for Retained Earnings T account works. I'll now return to battling Revaluation, phew!

I have seen a negative RE account & at the same time it had free cash flow . How can this be?

The RE account is the accumulation of all past profits and losses minus dividends, since the company's inception. Free cash flow is measured for a period of time, not since the company's inception. Thus, a company could have a negative RE account (perhaps from large losses in prior years) and yet have free cash flow this year.
