fantastic build! love a 109 anyway but this scheme is great. one pointer if I may, when it comes to finer spraying dont be afraid to thin the paint further or increase your pressure a bit and pull the trigger back less to compensate. you'll get better atomisation and a little more overspray control. love the weathering you achieved on here as well. ties everything together nicely. :)

A wonderful video. Thank you. It's always a pleasure to watch your work very well done. Just remember don't be too critical of yourself, 17 year old airmen hastily applied a lot of the camouflage colors to these aircraft in the field so your model probably looks way better than the real thing did.

I can say I was just as scared as you are. The best advice I can give is it just go slowly, like really slowly. Don't pull the trigger back very far at all, and make sure to spray fairly close to the surface. Practice on a test bed model would be ideal! Good luck mate 😄

Very nice work! the chipping with Vallejo Aluminium was a very risky step !! why didnt you use an enamel paint to do that?? you can always easly remove an enamel paint with white spirit and try again, in case you put too much paint or if you are not pleased with the results!
@ModellingWeekly Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yeah, twas pretty risky indeed haha. Went for the Vallejo because I like how you're able to later it to build up different levels of shine, to represent areas with more or less oxidation 👍

I´ve just finishing my F4U 1/48 from Revell. I have a problem. After my Vallejo Air colours I´ve airbrushed a layer of gloss varnish (Vallejo), which i mixed with Vallejo Thinner. You must be a really confident experienced modeller. Just to let you know, I am building the same kit, same version (C) and am following you to a T, it's been really good. I am currently at 16:00. How did you know to ad XF-9 to XF-7?

Nice job, but RLM65 is not correct for this type of plane, especially the ones with the DB605 AS engines, which were from mid 1944. The light grey should be RLM76.Your control of the air brush is superb, not sure I will ever get that.

I've been airbrushing for decades, I really recommend you get some scrap kits or plastcard and practice air pressure and thinning ratios. To me it looked like you were spraying sand. You have a decent airbrush so you can take that out of the equation. Pronunciation of eduard and vallejo were 0 out of 10. 🤔
@ModellingWeekly3 жыл бұрын
OK, where do I start lol. If you had listened until the end of the video, I mentioned how the thinning ratio for the black was imperfect, and that it could be improved (though this pot of Tamiya stuff that I've been using never seems to be perfect no matter what, whilst everything else seems fine, so I'm inclined to think it's a dud). In my opinion, the rest of the spraying wasn't bad. The pre-shading with the black suffered a little also, which again points me towards thinking its a dodgy pot. Now, I would normally just say I don't care at all what someone thinks of my pronunciation of kit brands, though I am going to say that I pronounced Vallejo 100% correctly...I come from a Spanish background, so I think I know what I am talking about when it comes to pronouncing a Spanish brand name thank you very much.
