From the first time I saw him as a child (some time in 2010) I just got so happy. The way he interacted with listeners/viewers, his wave goodbye, his amazing voice and smiling expressive face. This happiness still strikes me everytime I rewatch videos of him or listen to him, now with a touch of warm nostalgia and comfort from childhood to being an adult, he has been there for me, truly impacted me and still fills me with joy. Thank you Eduard chil. I hope you sing for eternity wherever you are.

@@h8owroblox872 What nonsense you are talking about! Eduard Khil is a cult Soviet singer. Why does he need your America? He was adored by the entire Soviet Union. He loved his homeland very much. He went through a lot with her. When Nazi Germany invaded the Soviet Union, Eduard Gil lived in Smolensk with his mother and stepfather. Gil, along with other children, was evacuated an hour and a half before the city was captured by the Germans. I ended up in an orphanage in the village of Raevsky near Ufa. He was reunited with his parents in 1943, when Smolensk was liberated from the German occupation. When his mother found him, he was severely malnourished, was in a state of profound dystrophy and could not walk on his own. His mother cured him, but Gil later survived the post-war famine.

Agreed. Not many people comment on this. Say what you like about the USSR, they really did push people to enjoy music, theatre and poetry by it being very readily available and cheap. Because of the way everything worked there were people who's full time job was music, being a writer, lyricist, performer or teacher. This is still seen in former Eastern Bloc states, check out Gimnazija Kranj Symphony Orchestra. Young students in an orchestra that would put many western youth orchestra to shame.
