Good video, credits for accuracy, better than most. My personal ranking of the Nordic Forces as a Norwegian based on some insight in the subject. Navy: 1. NOR 2. SWE, 3.DK, 4 FIN Army and National Guard: 1. FIN, 2. SWE, 3. NOR 4. DK Air force: 1. SWE, 2. NOR, 3. FIN, 4. DK Much of the difference is the geographical responsibility and challenges of each country and not so much of the latest acquirement.

Yeah but all nordic countries suck in missile defence and the air forces are too weak, except for the Swedish maybe. A little bit more assured now that Finland and Sweden has joined Nato

@@Beerbellybilly1 Air force isnt the strongest, but as a defense force it should be enough. We are all NATO now and basically "share" all forces, so any sudden Russian invasion would be responded to by all nordic countries as one, giving the rest of the allience plenty of time to respond.

Yes, its all geography. Obviously we (Norway) would rank highest on navy forces, considering our country is just a long coast ;)

Where Norway lacks capacity is in a permanent city integrated advanced missile defense system and high mobility long range artillery systems like M142 HIMARS and Patriots missile defense systems in cooperation with its NASAMS

If I remember correctly, I once read an article from the national news broadcaster (NRK.no). I think we're in the process of acquiring three or four new NASAMS batteries and one PATRIOT. I read this a bit after easter 2024 (that was right after it was annouced that the military is getting a huge increase in budget). I honestly don't think that's close to enough, but it would be an improvement. But take this with an ocean worth of skepticism because I'm very unsure if I remember correctly.

Yes, you will also not see any F-16s in Norway’s Air Force just like Denmark because they retired those aircraft along time ago and now are donating all there retired F 16 aircraft to Ukraine 🇺🇦 🇳🇴🫡

Forgot two branches: Norwegian Home Guard and Norwegian Cyber Defence Force. So i'd say this isn't complete...
Norway is actually the strongest military power among the Nordic countries, according to the global military strength index. (35th of 145 countries). Sweden 37, Denmark 48, Finland 49. Norway's relatively large fleet of the F-35 fighter (52), four frigates and six submarines weigh in.
@oblivionnokk35312 ай бұрын
That is last years ranking, sadly this year, Sweden jumped over our ranking. However I belive that will change soon seeing how much the Norwegian Authorities are investing amssivly into the military again and we might see some insane buys soon, specially on the navy part due to the aging corvettes and frigates who are both now very expensive to further update.

Global firepowers rankings are a bunch of bull, and this is coming from a Norwegian, both Sweden and Finland are stronger in quality and quantity
@subwolf74202 ай бұрын
@@Torbert_ I do trust the official global indexes. I believe the main reason for Norway ending up on top of the Nordic countries is the 52 fifth generation fighters, they are alone a serious force. At least this asset drives up the score a lot.
@Torbert_2 ай бұрын
@@subwolf7420 only around 32 of those F-35s are actually in Norway, the rest are at Lukes AFB due to a lack of qualified technicians in Norway, and both Sweden and Finland posses a higher amount of AFVs that are more modern than the ones Norway have along with a higher amount of personel
