I struggled at school with depression and anger, but I was at school when we had little or no support and were just scolded and shouted at by teachers. My Dad left my Mum when I was 11 years old for another woman, leaving my Mother on her own with three kids. It was a very hard time, but my Mother, a true hero got us all through it, but my teachers were just completely indifferent to what I was going through. I still feel some resentment toward those teachers now, but I guess it’s in the past. I’m glad teachers now try to understand that home life for some kids can be very hard and they are not treated like useless delinquents.

Best thing I ever heard was how anger is just sadness that hasn't been processed, and when you see a lot of these angry kids on these shows you find that there IS something deeply bothering/upsetting them and it all just kinda clicks ): i wish there was more funding in place to help students emotionally. They're just kids, they haven't emotionally matured, they don't understand how and why they feel the way they do sometimes, and hormones don't help at all. I'm glad there's at least one staff member they feel okay being vulnerable around to talk about their problems, it can make or break a kid

problems? she just attention seeking and ripping the piss out of the teachers. having split parents ain’t an excuse, my parents are split since I was 3 and I don’t act like an idiot. you might say people react differently, but my sisters a really emotional person and she doesn’t act like this even tho our parents are split. her mum isn’t abusive, like if I was getting in trouble at school my mum would say the same, obviously her mum would be embarrassed of her mongo behavior. she doesn’t have anger issues like the other girl, and she’s literally doing it for reaction and attention. she wants to entertain the class and be the center of attention, it is fucking embarrassing. and taking pictures of yourself crying, and like updating her status with emojis to show. she’s one of them “nr, only close mates know” girls. fuck off stupid bitch.

I feel so sorry for Katie, I really do feel her. They say time heals, but nothing heals the pain of separated parents, not even time, you just learn how to cope and mask the constant deep pain.
@10draperful Жыл бұрын
Hey- I completely disagree. I had separated parents , developed extreme abandonment complexes, and suffered for many years. I am now healed. I cannot teach this because I'm simply not an expert yet. But I'd recommend a book, it's called 'The Power Of Now' by Eckhart Tolle. It's probably a good starting point. I also benefited greatly from EMDR therapy. There's a well paved path. Yes, you develop a mask. But the mask can be removed. The pain comes out , and out, and out. It's torture once you remove the mask. And then?? It's for you to find out. Good luck.

Z_Lordec games Not everyone’s parents are like yours m8. There are parents who only yell and beat their kids (not saying she is but it happens), this is how she acted knowing cameras were on her and she’d be on tv, how do you think she’d act behind closed doors. Ridiculous to make that assumption of “she must’ve been nice” even tho there’s no indication of her acting like that. Problem kids usually have parents that are never nice to them.

I think schools, in general, should sympathise a little with Katie. They must remember what it was like being a teenager and how difficult it was. Whilst they believe they are facing with the most difficult situation ever, others might view it as quite dumb and simple. Everyone has their own battles to defeat. Shouting does not work, nor does isolation. period.
