Funnily enough, everyone in this forum is wishing a long life to the Dalai Lama, and while I wish the same, all of you don't seem to understand that not a long life is relevant to a Buddhist, but the quality of ones life. And the quality of ones life is determined by the person, no-one is to be blessed, or blamed. A person needs to understand that one needs to take responsibility for all of ones thoughts, feelings, and actions, and through taking this responsibility, can we talk about being a mature person. A Buddhist believes that we need to understand the reason why we need to live a good life, a compassionate, a peaceful life, because we will be re-incarnated with the karma of our previous life, and that thus our life will continue with our bad, or good karma respectively, until we have dissolved all of our karma.
