"Face of a angel arse like a washerwoman" new to me, but on the button: in fact, there's a story theme there.

Great con concept, but the camera angle did not allow viewers to see what the guy who was analyzing the bay colt's conformation was talking about. A shame, since videos like this can help prospective owners and racing fans alike to understand what a good thoroughbred should look like.

I am fully aware that Big Red had 3 white feet, and of course there are many exceptional horses with white feet. I guess my comment came off the wrong way, what I was trying to get across is that the Thoroughbreds generally have crappy feet, thin hoof walls, etc. Ask any farrier if you had the option to purchase a TB with 4 black feet vs 4 white, the better choice would be the darker foot. Read the data, talk to many farriers, I know that it's not 100% true for all TB's, but it unfortunately it is the case for most.

@@meganproffitt424 why should she name them here? It is true though

Running Down a Dream Because some farriers are more reputable than others. For all we know her “farrier sources” could be the worst farriers ever or not even hold a farrier license.

thoroughbreds do not have crappy feet, they're fed loads of meal, spend too much time in a stall, shod far too young, how could they not develop crappy feet? Read 'performance hoof, performance horse' by Nic Barker
@DoubleDogDare54 Жыл бұрын
@@howardmckeown7187 In other words, they have crappy feet. The OP has a valid point on hoof pigmentation, though. I know ranch horse breeders who avoid white legged horses for that exact reason- the hoof wall is softer. I can even give you a parallel example - dogs with black toenails have tougher nails than dogs with white feet and non-pigmented nails. A black nail has a tougher horn on it than the softer nail on a dog with white feet. Just how it is. Yeah, when it comes to hooves, give me a bay or chestnut with no bling to him. No hoof, no horse.

Good conformation points, but the guy said "No foot, No horse", so true. But he showing a filly there with 3 white feet. White feet are known for being more problematic than dark feet. I learned this saying long time ago- " One white foot- buy em, Two white feet- try em, Three white feet- look well about em, Four white feet- could do without em." That's old school, and so true amongst Thoroughbreds.

We do not let "white feet" stop us from purchasing a superior athlete. Secretariat had three white. California Chrome four.

I think the only reason thats true is horses with white socks (or pretty coats in general) are normally bred for looks, not health confirmation or any of that. Its a shame, but true. Even if that is not the breeders intentions, it is a long genetic issue now because of long term breeding for these gorgeous horses not worrying about the side effects. Ever wonder why rescue horses are normally gorgeous colors...?
@makaylam9475 жыл бұрын
basically what im saying is, i dont think the white socks = bad feet. I think it USUALLY = bred for markings not health, LEADING TO bad feet. Much like all horse issues are not just there, they are symptoms of a cause. here, the symptom would be bad feet, the cause would be that for thousands of years horses were bred for color causing most colored horses to have problems.
